Apt
Market
Apt
market is the biggest of the Luberon weekly markets. It takes
place on Saturday morning (up till about 12.30pm) year-round,
and has been going for some 900 years.
The
market sprawls and swirls through several alleys and squares in
the heart of old Apt, like a long conga line, and it's a festival
of vitality and colour.
There
is a real buzz in the air as you stroll from stall to stall, an
energy that comes from the traders and a jolliness in the steps
of your fellow shoppers.
Apt
market covers food, local products, clothes, fabrics, bedspreads
and table cloths, flowers, herbs, toiletries, perfume, and many
other things you probably didn't know you needed.
Many
shops along the market also stay open or have stalls on the pavement,
adding to the liveliness of the proceedings.

Apt
market is a place for food lovers.
|
Apt
also has a farmer's market every Tuesday evening, from April to
December, in the cours Lauze de Perret.
Apart
from the market, Apt is a very functional, necessary town. On
the way in on the N100 from the west there is a good organic store
(magasin bio) and next to it Chabaud
reclamation yard, a useful address if you are renovating a house.
