This 3-bedroom Provence rental house is simple but everything about it is done right and it has surprising features for the price:

- Air conditioning
- Heated pool with UV-proof cover so you don't need to coat the children in sun-block
- Very well equipped summer kitchen and BBQ by the pool.

And it has an excellent location at the foot of the beautiful hill-top village of Menerbes, with a view of the village across the vineyards.
 
 
 

The summer kitchen (above) is by the pool and is basically a second full kitchen, because in the summer you will probably be spending a lot of time here.

There are comfortable sun loungers and a wooden dining table and chairs for 8. Oven, 4-ring cooker, fridge-freezer, crockery and cutlery, dishwasher, as well as a BBQ by the pool.

There is also a shower and WC.

Kitchen equipment: oven, 4-ring gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, table settings for 12. Next to the kitchen is a clothes washing machine.

For toddlers: there is a children's high chair and two travel cots.

All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have a view of Menerbes and the vineyards.

1st floor (above ground level):
Bedroom 1 with double bed (1.6 x 2m)
Bathroom 1 with shower and WC
TV room has a fold-out bed if needed

2nd floor:

Bedroom 2 with double bed (1.4 x 2m)

Bedroom 3 with 3 single beds

Bathroom 2 with bath, separate shower, separate WC.

TV room on 1st floor. Sofa at the back can turn into a bed. TV has terrestrial French stations and a DVD player.   Bathroom 1 with shower.
 

Setting: the house adjoins the owner's house in a small hamlet at the foot of Menerbes. It takes up one side of a courtyard, with the owner's house along another side. There are agricultural sheds and equipment, an old rusting windmill to pump up water, and vineyards all around. It is a rustic farm setting with a proper lived-in feel. Sometimes the owner will take children (and parents) in a specially converted trailer for a tractor ride to see parts of the Luberon you can only see if you go cross-country.

The pool: the pool is 10m x 5m, with roman steps at the shallow end. It is under a permanent cover which serves to both keep the pool warm and clean, and to provide a UV screen against the sun - this is great if you find it a chore to coat children in sunblock every time they want to swim. The pool can be heated at guest's cost (which can make the pool usable in April for example). You would have priority use of the pool. See above for details of the pool house and summer kitchen.

Included in the rates: air conditioning throughout the house, utilities, heating, bedlinen, towels, pool towels, after-stay clean.

Extras: pool heating, cooked meals and baby-sitting can be arranged.

Rental periods: rental periods run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am.

Booking conditions: 30% booking deposit, with the balance payable 6 weeks before your stay.

Security deposit: the security deposit against breakage or damage is 500 euros, and is returned after your stay.
