Set in a charming, rustic hamlet 5 minutes from the stunning hill-top village of Gordes, Lady Oscar is a 2-bedroom cottage with pool that is perfect for exploring the region or staying put.

Lady Oscar is an old stone house to rent with both the charm of Provence and the benefit of good bathrooms and a pool. It is close enough to the hill-top villages to get your baguette in the morning but not give up the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.

The house adjoins, but faces away from, the owners' house, so while you have total privacy, they are usually there to help with any recommendations or language difficulties - he is French, she is British, and there is nothing they don't know about Provence!
 
Lady Oscar is laid out over two floors. Because of the lie of the land, the top floor is close to being the ground floor on one side of the house. On the top floor are two bedrooms, one with a double and one with two single beds.

Between the two bedrooms is a bathroom with bath, double basins and WC.

The downstairs bathroom has a rather spectacular walk-in shower, double basins and WC.

Stairs to the lower level take you to a very cosy living room with ancient flagstones on the floor and an impressive fireplace taking up one wall. There is also a TV with satellite channels. The colours here are blues and broken whites, while upstairs they are ochres and yellows.  
 
The old flagstone floor keeps the room fresh even on the hottest days.
 
Pool and garden

The pool (with very pretty poolhouse) and garden are nominally shared with the owners, but as they are busy people they do not get to use the pool much.

   But most people don't spend the day at the house. They go out and explore the spectacular Luberon. Lady Oscar is beautifully situated for that. Just up the road is Gordes, then the other Luberon villages are all around: Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbes, Lourmarin, Roussillon, Goult - all within 15 minutes. Further afield are Avignon, Aix, Arles, Nimes, St Remy, Marseille and the French Riviera.

Olive trees and fruit orchards surround the property, and it is not isolated but part of a small hamlet with real Provencal people.

Rates are per week, in euros. If your week falls betwen months, you take the month which the majority of the week is in.
 
Included in the rate
The rental rate includes: utilities, bedlinen, towels, pool towels, and after-stay clean.

Rental periods
Rental periods run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am.

To book
To secure a booking you would need to send a 25% deposit, with the balance payable up to 8 weeks before your stay.

Cancellation policy
If you need to cancel, and if we can find another renter for your dates, we will return any money sent (minus bank charges).

Security deposit
The security deposit against breakage or damage is 600 euros, and is returned after your stay.
