All that remains standing of Roussillon's castle is this vaulted construction (above left) in the garden, which provides a uniquely atmospheric spot for lunch or dinner. The low entrance beyond the table is a small dungeon, whose last prisoner tunnelled his way to freedom. The pool is to the side of the house. It is 10m x 4m (33x13ft) and has a ledge along the side for kids. There is a security alarm, in accordance with French pool regulations. There are sunbathing mattresses and chairs. |

Viewed from the street you can see the curious layout of the house - it is in fact two house joined into one. The lighter coloured part of the left has the kitchen on the ground floor and bedrooms above that. The darker coloured part on the right has the TV room and laundry on the ground floor, and bedrooms above. In between the two parts is the living room, and behind is the garden. |

Outside the living room is a dining table under the fig tree (right). Here we are looking at it from the castle remains. The garden is walled in all around and on various levels - note that this represents a potential hazard for toddlers exploring on their own. In the garden are lavender, olive trees, figs, rosemary, grapevine and roses. |

The walls are stairs in the garden are built from remaining stones. In the vaulted garden room that remains from the castle, you can let your imagination wander in a place that has witnessed over 1000 years of history. Or take part in convivial dinners echoing many happy repasts down the ages. |
