La Font du Claux is a an exceptional restored mas that gives you plenty of space, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, for 7 people. It is a short walk to the restaurants, cafes and food stores of Bonnieux, but the setting is pure countryside, with great views on four sides - of Bonnieux, Lacoste, the Luberon mountain and the Mont Ventoux - most houses would be delighted with just one of these.

The house is set in 2 acres of garden and surrounded by cherry trees and vineyards.

Downstairs the living space has exquisite decor and a very homely feel, and although this is an old stone farmhouse the openings have been enlarged to flood the house with light. The living room (pictured above) has sofas around the fireplace and a piano, and a view of cherry trees and the medieval village of Lacoste.

The dining room and kitchen run into each other, for convivial family occasions.
The kitchen and dining room run together, the kitchen is well equipped with oven, 4-ring cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Plus washing machine and dryer.

Upstairs and out of the way is the TV den with movie library.At the top of the house is the TV den with wide-screen TV, and DVD library. Downstairs is a study for those who need to work, and there is high-speed wireless internet (wifi) that reaches almost every room.

 Single bedroom with 90cm bed. | There are 4 bedrooms: 3 doubles and 1 single. The large master bedroom has a 1.6m (5ft 3") wide bed and big picture windows to capture the views. Its en suite bathroom has bath with hand-held shower, basin and WC. Bedroom 2 is a 1.6m double with en suite bathroom, with shower, basin and WC. Bedrooms 3 and 4 share the third bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC. |

Garden
There are 1.6 acres of land around the house. The lawned courtyard in front is shaded by the towering linden tree and provides a lovely spot for an informal meal or drinks.

Beyond the courtyard is the pool with protective wall around. The pool is 13m x 5m (43 x 16ft) and has a pergola with deck chairs for relaxing in the shade.

La Font du Claux is blessed by proximity to two of France's most beautiful villages: Bonnieux (seen from bedroom, above left), and Lacoste across the valley (above right).
The Location

Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful villages in France, is just behind the house.
The house is 5 minutes walk from the centre of Bonnieux, which apart from being achingly beautiful is well served by restaurants, cafes and food stores, as well as a picturesque market every Friday morning. Bonnieux is one of the perched villages of the Luberon, officially one of the 'Most Beautiful Villages in France'. Close by are other notable hilltop villages: Gordes, Menerbes, Lacoste, Roussillon, Lourmarin, etc.
From Bonnieux you are by the cleft in the Luberon mountain that gives you access to the south side: as well as Lourmarin there are places like Cucuron, Ansouis and Cadenet to explore, and beyond these, Aix en Provence. The Cote d'Azur is 90 minutes away.
