Gorgeous 3-bedroom Provence rental with tennis court, close to Menerbes

 

 

Maison du Platane is a high-end gite for 6 people, 1 mile from the village of Menerbes, with pool and tennis court. It is upstairs on the 1st floor and has a lovely big balcony for eating and barbecueing in the shade of the plane tree.



Living Rooms

 

Big, comfortable living room with dining table, UK TV and Wifi.

The spacious living room has plenty of comfortable sofa space and a dining table. The french windows open onto the balcony. The TV has French and UK channels, and DVD. There is free WiFi internet and hi-fi with iPod dock.

 

 

The kitchen is a lovely bright room with everything the keen chef could need: American side-by-side fridge-freezer, range cooker with double oven, 5 gas burners and hot-plate, microwave, and dishwasher.





Bedrooms

 

Bedroom 2 and bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and WC.

There are three bedrooms: 2 doubles and a twin room that can be either 2 singles or 1 double.

The doubles are 1.6m-wide (5.25ft) and the singles make a 1.8m-wide double.

The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, double basin and WC. The other two bedrooms share the second bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Note: the third bedroom is not pictured here but is of a similar quality to the other two and measures 4m x 3.2m.





Garden & Pool

The grounds, pool and tennis court are shared with two other gites but each gite is separate, facing in different directions, and has its own private outside terrace out of sight of each other.

 

 

The south-facing balcony (pictured above and below) is outside the kitchen and living room, and has a dining table and BBQ grill. It is shaded by the plane tree that gives the house its name.

The pool is 10 x 5m (33 x 16ft), with roman steps at the shallow end and a diving board at the deep end. Around the pool are very comfortable sunloungers and parasols, as well as the pool house and shower.

 

The pool and the shade of the pool house are by the tennis court.

Also on the grounds are the hardcourt tennis court, and a kids' play area. There is secure parking and the property is enclosed and gated.

The owners live on site and are a bi-lingual British couple, they are delighted to help with any local advice or to resolve any problems.

The Location

The house is 1km from the village of Menerbes, and is an ideal location for exploring the rest of the Luberon and Provence. Menerbes has everything you need - cafe, restaurants, bakery, butcher and a small grocery store.

All the other picture-perfect 'perched' hill-top villages of the Luberon are within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux, Bonnieux, and Goult.

Within an hour are Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

There is a market every day in one of the surrounding villages.

You can make a comfortable day-trip of the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

Included in the rental rates: bedlinen, towels, pool towels, utilities, WiFi internet, and after-stay clean.

Rental periods run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am.

To secure a booking you would send a 30% deposit, with the balance payable up to 8 weeks before your stay.		 There is a refundable security deposit of 500 euros against any breakages or damage.

Cancellation policy: if we can find another booking for your dates we will return any money sent (minus bank charges).

The house is for a maximum of 6 people. We regret that pets and smoking are not allowed in the property.
