Trains to Provence
book for all French train travel in English
Trains are a great way to travel in France and Europe - they are fast and frequent, and the journey distances are not huge.
If you are flying into Paris CDG airport you can catch a TGV fast train from the airport to be in Avignon 2 hours and 40 minutes later. You can also catch a TGV from Paris, and all the cities of France are on the TGV network. You can then complete your journey with car hire from Avignon, which is 50 minutes drive to the Luberon.
You can book your train using Rail Europe which is the official UK subsidiary of the French railways operator SNCF. On that site you can also book for the direct London-Avignon train that runs on Saturdays in the summer and takes under 6 hours.
