The Location

The village of Bonnieux is 2.5 km (1.5 miles) from the house.

The house is 2.5 km from the beautiful village of Bonnieux, and on the road towards the equally beguiling Lourmarin, 9km away through the cut in the Luberon mountain.

To the north you are 20-30 minutes from the other celebrated hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, Goult, Oppede le vieux, etc. And the towns like the antiques mecca of Isle sur la Sorgue, and Fontaine de Vaucluse, where the Sorgue river emerges fully formed from deep underground.

And to the south are more typical Luberon villages - Cucuron, Cadenet, Ansouis, etc. - as well as the fascinating city of Aix-en-Provence.

Both Bonnieux and Lourmarin have a delightful market on Friday mornings, and there is another Luberon market in a neighbouring village every day of the week.

Within an hour are the splendid Provence cities of Avignon, Arles, St Remy, Tarascon, Orange, Nimes, as well as the Camargue, Marseille, and the Rhone wine trail.

Lourmarin is on the other side of the Luberon mountain, 12 minutes away.
