The Location

Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and its weekly market.

The house is midway between the stunning Luberon villages of Bonnieux and Roussillon, 5 minutes from both.

Bonnieux is not only beautiful to look at on approaching, perched above the vineyards of the Luberon valley, but also a perfect Provencal village on the inside, with architecture and winding streets dating to the middle ages. The village has fantastic views to Lacoste to the west, Mont Ventoux to the north, and the Luberon mountain to the south.

Market day in Bonnieux is Friday morning, and there is a market in a neighbouring village every day of the week.

Roussillon is also a medieval hill-top village, known and loved for its amazing palette of ochre colours. It has all the amenities you need: restaurants and cafes, grocery, bakery, butcher, doctor, pharmacy, small specialist stores, galleries and a weekly market.

Roussillon and Bonnieux are two of perched, hilltop villages that make the Luberon region of Provence such a fascinating place to visit. Other nearby hilltop villages include MenerbesGordesLacosteOppede-le-vieux, and Goult, all within 15 minutes.

From this base you can explore the Luberon, its villages and markets, and close by you will find AvignonFontaine de VaucluseIsle sur la Sorgue, Les Baux de Provence, St Remy, Aix en Provence, Orange, Arles, Nimes, Marseille, the Camargue, Gorges du Verdon, to name just some of the great days out an easy drive away. The fishing village of Cassis on the Mediterranean is 90 minutes away, and the French Riviera 2-3 hours.

Rousillon has an extraordinary palette of colours, testament to its past as a major ochre producer.

Fantastic venue for a family and friends gathering

My husband and I rented this property to celebrate our 40th anniversary with friends and family. It worked out perfectly. The house is well-appointed with a huge living/dining area, outdoor dining area, five very comfortable bedrooms, each with its own bath. The kitchen is well-equipped. Beverly, the property manager, arranged for a chef to come prepare dinner on the day of our anniversary and she also put is in touch with a bike rental company that delivered four bikes directly to the house. The location (which is actually closer to Rousillon than Bonnieux) is well- located - - close to the many their hill towns of the Luberon and also near dedicated bike paths and a terrific vegetable stand. The house itself is charming and comfortable. We had a great time.

Such an amazing experience!

It took me almost 365 days to write this review, but here I am. We've rented this location for a very special trip with our family and beloved frieds who shared our passion for traveling, cycling, food, wine and special moments. We couldn't have chosen better. The property is superb, incredibly well located and met every single need of our group, which included 2 little boys at the age of two. Now that our trip completes exactly 1 year, I realize how much I miss those times. I could say that I even miss the cigales...Did I say that??!! Well, as for Beverly, no words to thank her ability to please us in every possible way. The same can be said about Angelina. So sweet, attentive and talented!! Do not miss the oportunity to have her cooking for you. As for the region, each city has its charm must be explored with no rush. Goult, Bonnieux, Roussillon and Cousteillet served as our market centres. Remarks shall be given to the local market of Cousteillet and the amazing boucherie. Also, do not miss la cave Au Gout do Jour in Roussillon. The owner, Marie-Pierre, knows everything about wine and has hiddem gems in her cellar. Long story short, the property is amazing and worth many visits as you can. I'm already planning the next one.

A magical week in Provence

Words cannot adequately describe what an amazing property this is! I wanted to spend my 40th birthday in a beautiful location with friends and family, and I cannot imagine a more perfect spot than Le Tresor Cache. The house is located in a prime spot for exploring the Luberon. We'd visit the local villages in the morning to pick up supplies for the day, and then spend most of the afternoon swimming in the pool. The kitchen is well stocked, and we enjoyed cooking there most nights. We also had Angelina cook a couple of nights. She was very lovely, and if possible, make sure she cooks a potato gratin for you. Her deserts are amazing too. Some of the highlights of our trip: Farmers market in Coustellet (only in summers) Maison Gouin in Coustellet- picked up wine, pates, salami, and steaks to grill Driving to Bonnieux in the mornings for pastries Riding bikes on the windy roads Walking to Pont Julien Hiring a private boat in Marseille and swimming in the Callanques Wine tasting in Chateauneuf du Pape Buying rose at Chateau la Canorgue (just down the street) Watching the sunset at Lacoste Market days (any of them!) Berverly was super helpful throughout the whole process. Especially when I had to call her from the airport when they lost our luggage! She gave the airlines directions to the house so they could deliver it a couple days later. She also checked in during the trip to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a wonderful vacation, and I highly recommend this property. We loved it so much that we're going back in March for a family celebration!
