Suite Bonnieux, Bonnieux, Provence
Luxury Luberon designer pad for two
![]() | ![]() |
A stunning conversion of a Provence farmhouse with open bedroom and de luxe bathroom all together, designer furnishings and bespoke kitchen. This is a 1-bedroom unit on the same large property as two other small rentals: Apartment Lacoste and Apartment Gordes. It has private patio and garden, and shared use of the pool.
Living Room

The downstairs is one space with living room and kitchen, opening onto the patio at front and private walled garden to the side. The living room is set around a stone fireplace and there is an AppleTV box and WiFi internet.

In the corner the designer kitchen has an induction cooker, wall-mounted oven, fridge-freezer, and dishwasher.

A wide spiral staircase leads up to the bedroom suite.
Bedroom
Upstairs it is again all one space, the bedroom and bathroom are only separated by a central fireplace.

Master bedroom and bathroom.
The bedroom is a place you might not want to leave. Solid wood 1.8m/6ft-wide bed with French doors to a terrace facing south to the Luberon. And behind the fireplace is a fabulous bathroom.

Master bedroom has a fireplace in the centre of the room with the bathroom behind it.

(Note that there is no door on the WC.) On the terrace (pictured left) are deckchairs and a view over the lavender field to Bonnieux and Lacoste. |

Garden & Pool
The property is in 2.8 ha of land (7 acres), with a big lavender field and pool at the front. Beyond the lavender are the two hill-top villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste and the Luberon mountain.

The pool is 13m x 7m (42 x 23ft) and has a heat pump to add some degrees in the shoulder season. The pool is shared with two small rental units on the same property, Apartment Lacoste and Apartment Gordes (if those are occupied). By the pool, the poolhouse has barbecue and lounging furniture.

To the side, by the kitchen door, is a shaded terrace with dining table (below right), and then a walled garden with lawn.

Beyond the garden is a large courtyard with fountain and the shade of plane trees - the perfect boules/petanque court. For lazing there is an outside sofa and on the lawn a hammock.

The medieval villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste (below) have been facing each other across the valley for well over 1000 years.

The property has a gated entrance and secure parking. Also on the grounds is the caretakers' cottage, the caretakers are an English couple who can help with problems or local advice. One of the services they can provide is any kind of breakfast you may desire.
The Location

Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and its weekly market.
The house is 3 miles from 3 wonderful villages of the Luberon: Bonnieux, Lacoste and Goult.
Bonnieux has all the amenities you need: bakeries, stores, cafes and excellent restaurants as well as the very picturesque Friday morning market.
Goult is also very well served by restaurants and its Cafe de la Poste, and is one of the hidden gems of the Luberon. Lacosteis a perfectly preserved medieval village, home to the notorious Marquis de Sade's castle, with few amenities but plenty of atmosphere.
Close by are other beautiful, perched, hilltop villages: Gordes, Roussillon, Oppede le vieux, Menerbes, etc. all within 15 minutes. There is a market in a neighbouring village every day of the week.
From Bonnieux you are by the cleft in the Luberon mountain that gives you access to the south side: more gorgeous villages like Lourmarin, Cucuron, Ansouis and Cadenet to explore, 20 minutes away, and beyond these, the fine city of Aix en Provence. The Cote d'Azur is 2 hours away.
To the west, within an hour or so are Avignon, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, Arles, and the Rhone wine trail.

Perfect!
Our week spent here was easily one of the happiest of our lives. The place is quite magical you feel far away from everything else. Thank you for creating such a peaceful respite. While we got out and about the highlight really was lounging by the lavender field with a glass of wine. We cannot imagine a more perfect spot in the Luberon, we hope to be here again real soon.

Wonderful and tranquil
We spent the most wonderful and tranquil week in this beautiful place; So immaculately renovated and kept, and the stylish decoration. We even loved the cool evenings which gave us a reason to use the gorgeous fireplace. Keep up the good work and love for this little paradise.

Fantastic luxurious accommodation
We stayed here in June and thought the place was absolutely amazing. Set amongst idyllic countryside dominated by Bonnieux and Lacoste; the property blends right in with a traditional exterior look. The swimming pool was at a perfect temperature to cool off in the afternoon sun, or just to lounge around sun bathing. We had use of a beautiful dining table set in the courtyard, the fountain providing a relaxing background noise. There is also an outdoor seating area which overlooks the swimming pool and a balcony, so you're spoilt for choice. The interior design is modern and the suite was well equipped with the latest technologies. The kitchen had everything we required including a grill/oven and the inclusion of a dishwasher ensured cleaning up was painless. The suite was much larger than we had anticipated and there were no problems with space. Upstairs the bedroom was gorgeous and the his and hers walk in showers an experience to behold. The morning sun warms up the balcony and it's great to sit and have a coffee over looking the lavender fields or in the evening a glass of wine whilst look at the illuminated Lacoste Castle. We had an amazing stay and hope we will be able to return again.
