Superb designer living in Provence


A luxury 2-bedroom apartment, part of a converted stone Provencal farmhouse near Bonnieux, and sharing the large pool with two other small rental units, Suite Bonnieux and Apartment Gordes.

Living Rooms

The living room, kitchen and dining room are in one very light and beautiful space.

There is a central dining table, and sleek designer kitchen with induction cooker, oven, dishwasher, and double fridge, all under the breakfast bar to as not to intrude in the room.


The kitchen is sleekly unobtrusive.

Across from the kitchen are the stone fireplace and sofas, and three big french doors open onto the south-facing terrace, while french doors also open to the other side and another dining table in a conservatory-style extension (below right).

The apartment has two spacious bedroom suites, each with open-plan bathrooms, facing south, sleeping 4 people. It should be noted that there are no doors between a bedroom and its bathrooms/WC, everything is in one space.

The first bedroom suite has a 1.8m/6ft-wide bed, fireplace, pedestal bath, walk-in shower, double basins, WC and bidet.

Its terrace also has the view over the lavender with palm trees and pool in the foreground.

This room is accessed up a few steps from the outside.


The bathroom for the upstairs bedroom has bath, shower, basins, WC and bidet.

The second bedroom is on the ground floor and opens onto the south terrace and pool. It has a 1.8m/6ft-wide bed and a separate area with sofa-bed (left). This could be used by a young child sleeping with parents in the bedroom.

The bathroom, through an arch, is again straight out of the pages of a magazine, with pedestal bath, walk-in shower, double basins, WC and bidet.

Garden & Pool


The apartment is in 2.8 ha of land (7 acres), with a big lavender field at the front visible from every room. Next door is a separate 1-bedroom rental, Suite Bonnieux, with its own patio and side garden. To the back, on the other side of the courtyard and facing in a different direction is Apartment Gordes. The pool is shared (if those units are occupied).

The pool is 13m x 7m (42 x 23ft) and has a heat pump to add some degrees in the shoulder season. By the pool is a poolhouse with barbecue and lounging furniture.

At the front the apartment has its own terrace facing south with shaded dining table and sun loungers. At the back the courtyard opens out to provide a perfect boules/petanque court under the plane trees, around a fountain.

Beyond the lavender field in front of the house are the two hill-top villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste, and the Luberon mountain.These medieval villages (below) have been facing each other across the valley for well over 1000 years.

The property has a gated entrance and secure parking. Also on the grounds is the caretakers' cottage, the caretakers are an English couple who can help with problems or local advice. One of the services they can provide is any kind of breakfast you may desire.

The Location


Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and its weekly market.

The property is 3 miles from 3 wonderful villages of the Luberon: Bonnieux, Lacoste and Goult.

has all the amenities you need: bakeries, stores, cafes and excellent restaurants as well as the very picturesque Friday morning market.

is also very well served by restaurants and its Cafe de la Poste, and is one of the hidden gems of the Luberon. Lacosteis a perfectly preserved medieval village, home to the notorious Marquis de Sade's castle, with few amenities but plenty of atmosphere.

Close by are other beautiful, perched, hilltop villages: Gordes, Roussillon, Oppede le vieux, Menerbes, etc. all within 15 minutes. There is a market in a neighbouring village every day of the week.

From Bonnieux you are by the cleft in the Luberon mountain that gives you access to the south side: more gorgeous villages like Lourmarin, Cucuron, Ansouis and Cadenet to explore, 20 minutes away, and beyond these, the fine city of Aix en Provence. The Cote d'Azur is 2 hours away.

To the west, within an hour or so are Avignon, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, Arles, and the Rhone wine trail.

What a beautiful relaxing place, we had a fantastic week. The sunflowers the lavender help to make a photographers dream. Fabulous place, location, pool, apartment, we could not have asked for more. Will miss our days and local escapades. We will be back.

Loving the lavender

It was like arriving at home, followed by the most wonderful week in Provence. This place has something magical that makes you want to stay forever. The location is central to travel to all the wonderful towns. The gorgeous lavender fields on our doorstep. The love shown on the property is evident. Looking forward to our next visit.

Weekly Rates

April - June2400 euros

Included in the rental rates: utilities, bedlinen, towels, WiFi internet, after-stay clean. Additional cleaning possible at guests' cost.

To secure a booking you would send a 30% deposit, with the balance payable up to 8 weeks before your stay.

There is a refundable security deposit of 500 euros against any breakages or damage.
 Rental periods run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am. For stays over a week there is a change of bedlinen once a week.

Cancellation policy: if we can find another booking for your dates we will return any money sent (minus bank charges).

The house is for a maximum of 4 adults + 1 child. We regret that pets and smoking are not allowed in the house.
