Extraordinary views from beautiful village renovation

A splendid 3-bedroom village house with a/c and the extraordinary, vast view from Bonnieux west over the Luberon. With terrace and dipping pool to make the most of the view, and very elegant interiors, this is the perfect place for up to 6 people to live the life of one of the Luberon's best villages.

Living Rooms

The house has been wonderfully well renovated, keeping original features like beams and floors, and adding more light and views, air conditioning, a three-level terrace, and entertainment technology.

This house has one of the best views in Provence, it is the iconic view from Bonnieux to Lacoste, taking in the Luberon mountain and a never-ending patchwork of vineyards and hills, as well as the daily spectacle of the sun going down straight ahead of you.

To make the most of this view the terrace is on three levels, with a shaded sitting area at the top, right outside the kitchen, along with Weber gas barbecue.

Down some steps is the dipping pool for cooling off on the hottest days, and then the top of the old defensive turret in the village walls is today a different sort of lookout, a place to eat while feasting on the incredible view.

There is quite a drop on the other side of the terrace wall and for this reason no children are accepted at this house.

The Location

Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and its weekly market.

The location is perfect to enjoy the life of a beautiful Provence village. In two minutes you can walk to the bakeries, stores, cafes and excellent restaurants of the village, from simple to Michelin-starred.

Bonnieux is stunning to look at on approaching, perched above the vineyards of the Luberon valley, but also a perfect Provencal village on the inside, with architecture and winding streets dating to the middle ages. Bonnieux, and the house, has fantastic views to Lacoste to the west, Mont Ventoux to the north, and the Luberon mountain to the south.

Market day in Bonnieux is Friday morning, and there is a market in a neighbouring village every day of the week.

Close by are other beautiful, perched, hilltop villages: Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux, Menerbes, Goult, etc. all within 15 minutes.

From Bonnieux you are by the cleft in the Luberon mountain that gives you access to the south side: more gorgeous villages like Lourmarin, Cucuron, Ansouis and Cadenet to explore, 20 minutes away, and beyond these, the fine city of Aix en Provence. The Cote d'Azur is 2 hours away.

To the west, within an hour or so are Avignon, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, Arles, and the Rhone wine trail.

Wonderful vacation in Bonnieux

We were a group a four adults looking for a quiet place to stay in Bonnieux with views of the valley below. Our stay at Le Voltaire exceeded all our expectations. Although the pictures are beautiful, they do not do it justice. The view from the balcony is simply breathtaking, and immediately induces a calm feeling of relaxation. We were warmly welcome by the house manager, who showed us everything we needed to know to make our stay comfortable. The house is beautifully furnished and includes all the staple items you’ll need to make a delicious meal. Enjoy a glass of wine on the sunny patio or choose to dine at one of Bonnieux’s many fine restaurants. The owners provide a list of recommended restaurants, activities and wineries to visit in the area. Everything is designed to help you enjoy a relaxing vacation! The place is clean, well appointed, location is ideal. Definitely worth a 5-star rating.

Joie de Vivre

Thank you for an amazing stay in your wonderful Bonnieux home. It exceeded all expectations - the house was beautifully presented with modern comforts and loads of provencal charm. The house was so well situated within an easy stroll to many superb restaurants, local Boulanger and supermarket. Jenny assisted us with incredibly detailed itineraries which we followed to the letter. We were so sad to leave but we are already planning our next holiday. We have been fortunate to stay in some truly inspiring holiday homes in Italy and France but this was definitely the best.
