The Location

Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and its weekly market.
The house is 1 km (0.6 mile) from one of the best villages in Provence - Bonnieux, with its bakeries, stores, cafés and excellent restaurants, from simple to Michelin-starred.
Bonnieux is stunning to look at on approaching, perched above the vineyards of the Luberon valley, but also a perfect Provencal village on the inside, with architecture and winding streets dating to the middle ages. Bonnieux has fantastic views to Lacoste to the west, Mont Ventoux to the north, and the Luberon mountain to the south.
Market day in Bonnieux is Friday morning, and there is a market in a neighbouring village every day of the week.
Close by are other beautiful, perched, hilltop villages: Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux, Menerbes, Goult, etc. all within 15 minutes.
From Bonnieux you are by the cleft in the Luberon mountain that gives you access to the south side: more gorgeous villages like Lourmarin, Cucuron, Ansouis and Cadenet to explore, 20 minutes away, and beyond these, the fine city of Aix en Provence. The Cote d'Azur is 2 hours away.
To the west, within an hour or so are Avignon, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, Arles, and the Rhone wine trail.

Our lovely holiday in Provence
The listing description and photographs were spot on. The kitchen is well stocked with good quality crockery and utensils, and the farmhouse kitchen table provided a great space for the children to eat and/or get out of the sun and do some quiet activities. Having air con during hot/humid Provencal summers was a blessing. The courtyard, pool area and views are stunning and we spent most of our days enjoying these spaces. You can walk into Bonnieux in about 20 mins or so, which is a good option if you want to go for a meal and don't want to drive. We had a couple of problems with the Pool and wifi during our stay, but these were dealt with swiftly by Benoit, the Property Manager. All in all, we had a really memorable holiday and would definitely rent this property again.

Stunning Stay / Impeccable service!
We booked this fantastic house for our entire family this summer for two weeks and our stay has been a truly incredible holiday. The house has an incredible charm and we immediately felt at home. All the rooms are very comfortable, and everything is practical. The service provided by the agency was impeccable and they were extremely helpful and reactive whenever we had a request. The location of the house was absolutely perfect, close enough to the wonderful village of Bonnieux ut very protected in a shrine of nature, with one of the most incredible views over the Provence, especially in the evening, when we would all enjoy the sunset. We definitely are looking forward to coming again next year!
