Outstanding holiday home in a dominant Luberon position

 

Les Vallons is a 6-bedroom rental home set in a stunning, peaceful location looking south from the Luberon to Mont St. Victoire near Aix and beyond. It is 2.5km from all the amenities of the beautiful village of Cucuron.The offsite caretakers can arrange everything from airport pick-up to catering to wine tours.

Living Rooms

 

The spacious living and dining rooms.

Downstairs are the large, beamed living room with open fireplace and sofas, a spacious dining room and very well equipped kitchen.

The kitchen (right) has a large 'range' cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, and all the equipment you might need. There is also a large gas BBQ on the terrace.

In the living room: TV/DVD with English-language channels, plenty of kids games. movies and books.

There is WiFi internet throughout.

 

Also downstairs are the utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, and guest WC.



Bedrooms

  

There are 4 double and 2 twin bedrooms, with 3 bathrooms en suite (with baths) and 2 further shower rooms.

Pictured left is the master bedroom and its bathroom with clawfoot bath, basin and WC.

Bedroom 2 (above)has a double bed and en suite bathroom with bath, WC and basin. It has its own terrace overlooking the garden.

   

Berooms 3 and 4, a double and a twin room, with their en suite bathrooms.

Bedroom 3 (above left) is a double with en suite bathroom with bath and over head shower, basin and WC. Bedroom 4 (above right) has two single beds and a bathroom with walk-in jet shower, basin and WC.

Bedrooms 5 and 6 share a bathroom.

Garden & Pool

With its exceptional position on the southern foothills of the Luberon natural park, the house has great views and tranquility. Surrounded by acres private woodland, you can step off the terrace and walk or cycle up into the hills for miles.

 

The large pool measures 14.5m x 6m (47 x 20ft) with a depth of 1m at the shallow end. It is set to the side of the house and also has the wonderful views. By the pool is the poolhouse with summer kitchen and shower room.

There are terraces to the front providing different places to eat, sit, relax.

 

Beyond the terraces are two levels of lawned gardens, the lower level is flanked by the pool at one end and a traditional boules court at the other. There is a table tennis table by the pool.

The upper level extends to the shady wooded area, with a chill-out hammock suspended between the trees.

 

The house is perfectly positioned to be sheltered from the mistral wind, facing south with the Luberon mountain at its back.

 

Country views are wide and far-reaching, as much as 30 miles to the south.






The Location

 

The village of Cucuron, 2.5km away, offers many delights, from the medieval rooftops to the weekly market.

The house is in countryside 2.5km from the lovely village of Cucuron. Cucuron combines fantastic looks, medieval history and charm with all the amenities you need: bakeries, butchers, grocery store, bank, cafes and restaurants, and even a Michelin-starred restaurant (La Petite Maison).

At the centre of the village of Cucuron is its huge water basin surrounded by centuries-old plane trees, which you may remember from the film 'A Good Year'. This is where the weekly market takes place, and is also home to restaurants and cafes.

Cucuron is surrounded by vineyards and stunning Provence countryside, with the Luberon mountain on its north side. It is very close to other beautiful Luberon villages - Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Ansouis, Cadenet, La Tour d'Aigues - and 35 minutes from Aix en Provence to the south.

The villages of the northern Luberon are reached through the cut in the mountain from Lourmarin to Bonnieux, giving you access to Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, Goult, etc. as well as the pictureque towns of Isle sur la Sorgue and Fontaine de Vaucluse.

Marseille is the nearest international airport, 1 hour away.

My family love Les Vallons and have been coming for a number of years. It is in a fantastic location and very well laid out with good quality fixtures and fittings. It ticks all the boxes!

Our heaven

We walked up those steps from the car park and were stopped in our tracks. Even the children. The view of the valley, the ideal temperatures, the image of the house to our left...our smiles, our comfort and our happiness have been overflowing since Saturday evening. Thank you for opening these doors to us this summer. As my mum said this morning, “this place is just good for the soul.” And thank you for the gorgeous bottle of vin! We got back from the Tuesday Marche in Cucuron. Big, swollen bags of fruit and clothes have made our shoulders sore. Just heaven.

Bliss

My wife and I have enjoyed Les Vadons many times. Always relaxation tonic. We returned rejuvenated. The food and the charm of the area are legendary. Best of all is the villa. The accommodation is wonderful. The pool is sublime, but best of all is the incredible view from the veranda. Cocktails there in the evening are beyond world class.

Weekly Rates


July - August6000 euros


Included in the rental rates: bedlinen, towels, pool towels, utilities, pool heating, high-speed internet, pool and garden maintenance, 10 hours housekeeping during the week, and after-stay clean.

To secure a booking you would send a 30% deposit, with the balance payable 6 weeks before your stay.

There is a refundable security deposit of 1500 euros against any breakages or damage.
 Rental periods run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am. For stays over a week there is a change of bedlinen once a week.

The house is for a maximum of 12 people. We regret that smoking is not permitted in the house.

Additional services: babysitting, cooking, wine tours, aromatherapy massages, golf days.
