The house has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, with one of the bedrooms in the poolhouse. There are 4 doubles and one twin room. Three of the bedrooms are downstairs. There are also two travel cots for under-3s.

The master bedroom (above) on the ground floor opens onto the front terrace. It has a 1.4m-wide double bed, TV/DVD and en suite bathroom with shower (with bench), basin and WC.

Upstairs above the master bedroom is bedroom 2 (above), a large room with 1.6m-wide double bed. Its bathroom is in the same space as the bedroom, with bath, WC and basin.

Bedroom 3 on the ground floor (above) opens onto the front terrace, and has a 1.4m double bed and bathroom with bath, basin and separate WC.

Bedroom 4 on the ground floor (left) has two single beds and opens onto the front terrace. Its bathroom has shower, basin and WC.

The fifth bedroom (below right) is the upstairs floor of the pool house (below left), which is separate from the main house, 15 metres away. It has a 1.4m double bed and a pedestal bath in the bedroom. The WC is downstairs. The poolhouse also has a kitchen, allowing for some independence from the main house.

The poolhouse has the 5th bedroom upstairs, with a pedestal bath and handheld shower.

The poolhouse has no heating so the 5th bedroom cannot be used from October to April, when the capacity of the house drops to 8 people.

Garden & Pool

The house is set in 5 acres of land on the heights of Gordes with a magnificent view over the valley and Luberon mountain, including the perched villages of Gordes, Bonnieux and St Saturnin.

Lunch in the shade of the poolhouse terrace. The pool has a very shallow 'beach' for kids to play in.

The pool is 14m x 6m (46 x 20 ft), with steps, and is fenced and gated for children's security. It has a great feature for young children - the first two metres of the shallow end has a raised 'beach' (above right) which is very shallow so non-swimmers can splash about without being out of their depth. Then there are steps down to the rest of the pool. The pool is open from May 1st to September 30th.

The poolhouse has a large shaded area with dining table (below right), and a summer kitchen and electric barbecue to prepare food by the pool.

The land is on different levels with some lawn, cherry orchard and olive grove.

On the level above the pool is a cherry orchard, with wonderful cherries to pick in May.

The outside space is a natural playground for children to roam.

At the front of the house is a terrace with table and specacular view (above left), as well as hundred-year-old olive trees on the lawn (below left).

There is plenty of parking at the house and gated entrance. The setting is quiet and peaceful, but only 5 minutes walk to all the amenities of Gordes (below right).

The Location

Gordes is one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Villa Gordes is just 600 metres from the stunning village of Gordes, which is the biggest of the Luberon hill-top villages, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and cultural events, so it is an ideal base from which to explore the Luberon and Provence.

The Luberon is known for the beauty of its perched villages, in addition to Gordes, close by are Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Oppede-le-vieux, Roussillon and many others. Each is a short drive away.

You'll find a market every day at a different village, including the one in Gordes on Tuesday mornings.

Away from the Luberon, the rest of Provence is at most a day-trip away: the cities of Avignon, Aix, Arles, Nimes, Marseille; the natural wonders of the Les Baux de Provence, Gorges du Verdon, the Alps and the Rhone wine trail; the French Riviera (Cote d'Azur) from Monte Carlo to St Tropez. Even Italy and Spain are in striking distance.

A lovely spot in Luberon

Terraube is a nice well located property in the heart of the Luberon , a 10 minute walk from Gordes . The welcome was warm and we received good advice on our arrival . The property has a very spacious main building and a pool house , beside a large swimming pool . So everyone can feel quite at ease and comfortable . The house is well equipped and everything was perfectly clean . The landscape around offers an outstanding view over the Luberon massif and its perched villages . The geographical location is ideal for visiting this beautiful area : old villages , casttles , vineyards , Cistercian abbeys , ... There are plenty of possible activities around : trekking , cycling , horse riding , ... In short , we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it .

Terraube is a magnificient place, and we had a great family holiday, our family and the family of my brother-in–law, as well as my parents-in-law. My husband's father is over 90, he too, very much enjoyed the two weeks at this beautiful house. The kids of course loved the swimming pool, whereas I could not get enough of the terrific views and the peace and quiet of the place. There is so much space. It’s very special to find a place with so much charm and perfect little imperfections. I enjoyed the library, as I do love books. For two weeks we celebrated the easy way of life by walking to the bakery in the mornings to get the "pain au chocolat" and the "baguette", then had a great breakfast on the terrace, and explored the area afterwards. The late afternoons we spent at the pool and then let the evenings finish comfortably with some wine and a nice piece of meat on the grill. Just great. We really had a wonderful time at Terraube and I would recommend it anytime, especially for families.

Wonderful family holiday in a perfect location

We had a wonderful week in La Terraube! There were two small children with our group of 9 adults and the house was catered for our group in every way. We used all the facilities and had dinner in a different spot every night in order to make full use of the panoramic views of the valley that this beautiful home offers. I would highly recommend this home for anyone with small children as the house comes equipped with necessary items and the pool has a child-lock gate to prevent any accidents. The location near Gordes was perfect for a stroll into town for all the necessities, but was far enough away from the tourists to enjoy privacy and quiet. Thank you to Anne and Patricia for all their support during our stay. We hope to return in the future!
