The Location

Gordes is one of the most beautiful villages in France.

The house is in countryside 3 miles from the stunning village of Gordes, which is the biggest of the Luberon hill-top villages, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and cultural events, so it is an ideal base from which to explore the Luberon and Provence.

The Luberon is known for the beauty of its perched villages, in addition to Gordes, close by are Goult, Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Oppede-le-vieux, Roussillon and many others. Each is a short drive away.

You'll find a market every day at a different village, including the one in Gordes on Tuesday mornings.

Away from the Luberon, the rest of Provence is at most a day-trip away: the cities of Avignon, Aix, Arles, Nimes, Marseille; the natural wonders of the Les Baux de Provence, Gorges du Verdon, the Alps and the Rhone wine trail; the French Riviera (Cote d'Azur) from Monte Carlo to St Tropez. Even Italy and Spain are in striking distance.

Great property for 4 generations together!

We arrived at La Maison Blanche in April for a multi generational family holiday. The house was perfect for our needs with 6 spacious bedrooms all with their own ensuite and more than enough communal space for everyone to get on with their own thing whilst still being able to come together to enjoy each others company. There were great facilities for the children to be entertained (climbing frame, home-made tepee, swinging tyre, garden to explore) the heated swimming pool got a lot of use too! The house is situated in a fantastic location to enjoy all the restaurants, activities and sightseeing that the Luberon has to offer. All in all a fantastic holiday was had and I would highly recommend this property to anyone. A well deserved 5 stars!

Perfect for a multigenerational getaway!

Family from all corners of the US came together for what has become our every-other-year excursion to the Luberon, one of our favorite places in the world. Grandparents, parents, and two children enjoyed both the communal areas of the house where we cooked and ate together, swam in a pool perfect for children, played boules, and read in the sun...and of course the privacy the different sleeping wings afforded for when we needed downtime. The proximity of the house to villages we love (Lacoste, Bonnieux, Gout, Gordes, Menerbes) was wonderfully convenient, and we spent our mornings bouncing from market to market...and our early evenings touring gelato purveyors for the kids. The property is impeccably maintained and the owners went above and beyond in terms of providing us with everything we might need for our stay - including bed rails for a toddler! Rosie and Carlo were welcoming and kind and made themselves available to us should anything come up. This is a house with a wonderful, warm feel. It was an ideal home base for our trip. One of the favorite activities was a sunrise walk to Gordes, returning to the house each morning with fresh croissants! to enjoy with our coffee. Highly recommended!

Perfect

We had a very lovely stay in Tim’s house ! We were 11 adults and the house was big enough for all of us. The house looks exactly as in the pictures, all bedrooms have a private bathroom which is very convenient for everyone’s privacy. The fridge broke during our stay and Rosie and Carlo who are managing the house were very efficient and everything was solved within a day. I really recommend this beautiful rental.
