The Location

Gordes is one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Villa Daesch is in a quiet country hamlet 4 miles from the stunning village of Gordes, which is the biggest of the Luberon hill-top villages, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and cultural events, so it is an ideal base from which to explore the Luberon and Provence.

The Luberon is known for the beauty of its perched villages, in addition to Gordes, close by are Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Oppede-le-vieux, Roussillon, Goult and many others. Each is a short drive away.

You'll find a market every day at a different village, including the one in Gordes on Tuesday mornings.

Away from the Luberon, the rest of Provence is at most a day-trip away: the cities of Avignon, Aix, Arles, Nimes, Marseille; the natural wonders of the Les Baux de Provence, Gorges du Verdon, the Alps and the Rhone wine trail; the French Riviera (Cote d'Azur) from Monte Carlo to St Tropez. Even Italy and Spain are in striking distance.

One of a kind

Villa Daesch was just a beautiful home for us to experience Provence. The meticulous care taken by the owners to preserve the rich history of the villa was extraordinary. And the design and decor of the interior were so intrig . We cannot say enough about the gracious host at the property. He took care of any request we had and provided us with a one of a kind Provencial Dinner through a local Lady that was probably the best meal any of us had had before. We will definitely be back soon.

Dream house in the Luberon

The description on the website is promising, but our expectations were exceeded. The house is very spacious and yet cozy, the decor stylish and high quality, and nothing is missing. The old thick stone walls are not only beautiful, they have ensured even in the highest heat for pleasant indoor temperatures. The terrace is priceless. The view over the rooftops of Les Martins into the valley and the slopes of the Luberon is unique, as well as gorgeous sunsets. As city dwellers, we appreciated the tranquility away from the traffic and tourist flows. The landscape and the mood in Provence and especially in the Luberon is unique. Les Martins is ideally located to explore all major and minor attractions. We could fully enjoy our three weeks vacation. The aperitifs with Edvard were great and we appreciated his good tips. Thank you for the hospitality. Susanne and Walter

Truly amazing historic Provence rental!!!

It was very difficult to leave such a stunning historic stone home. I spent a week with my husband and elderly parents and truly enjoyed a bit of heaven in Provence. It is centrally located in the Luberon in a small quiet hamlet with just a few homes. Many of the hilltop towns, Gordes, Menerbes, Roussillon, etc., are within a half hour car ride. The apartment was immaculate, professionally decorated, and has all the amenities you need. It is spacious with wonderful bathrooms on each floor. The layout is very unique with privacy for both bedrooms. The juxtaposition of the historic stone/wood construction with the modern amenities/furnishings was impressive. The rooftop patio has amazing views!!! The interior patios are gorgeous. The apartment is even more beautiful than the website photos. A very large supermarket and delicious bakeries are less than a 10 minute car ride in Coustellet. Our favorite was Le Fournil d’ Antan. Edvard was so accommodating, responded promptly to emails and provided excellent customer service. His recommendation to attend the Vespers (prayers in song) at the Abbey Notre-Dame de Senanque was the perfect ending to the day. Our stay at Villa Daesch was truly an incredible experience not to be missed!
