The Goult Studio, Goult, Provence

Delightful village hideaway for two with gorgeous view

The studio and the view from within.

The Goult Studio is a delightful rental in a quiet spot right in the village of Goult, one of the jewels of the Luberon. It is a perfect base for a couple wishing to explore the Luberon and Provence, and come home to air conditioned comfort and a wonderful view from both house and garden.

Living Room

The studio is 30 square metres (320 sq ft), full of light, and with the beautiful view always at the forefront. A wide floor-to-ceiling opening faces south to the Luberon, with sliding windows that glide fully into the wall.

The fitted kitchen has built-in fridge with freezer compartment, 2-ring ceramic cooker, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. You can dine inside or on the patio.

The armchairs by the big sliding windows and the view out over the Luberon.

Two armchairs can face the view or the TV with French and English channels (Orange TV). The studio has high-speed WiFi internet.

Bedroom

The bed is 1.8m (6ft) wide, and en suite is the bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and WC. The bed can also be made up as two single beds if preferred.

Garden

The patio at the front of the studio, which is screened off from the owner's property.

At the front of the studio is the patio with pergola overhead, table and chairs, and two garden armchairs. There is a Weber gas barbecue for outdoor grilling. The studio is screened off from the owner's property and has its own part of the garden.

Below the studio in the garden is a verdant, shaded spot with loungers and seating areas, with the view through the lush vegetation.

Your own part of the garden below the studio, with sunloungers and seating area.

Also on the garden level is an outdoor shower for cooling off.

Another relaxation spot with view in the garden, and the steps down from the studio.

The studio is next door to the owner's house, but separate and private. The owner is English-speaking and very happy to help with local advice, language problems, etc. There is an off-street, secure parking spot with the property.

The Location

Scenes from the village of Goult, in the heart of the Luberon.

The studio is in Goult, one of the best villages of the Luberon. It is a 1-minute stroll to all the amenities, but in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Goult is a little-known gem of a village, with a lovely atmosphere, a good café/restaurant on the main square, and several other good restaurants, as well as a 'hidden' and beautifully preserved old neighbourhood with bakery, butcher, grocery store. The village also has public tennis courts.

Goult has a seasonal market on Thursday mornings, and there is a market in a nearby village every day of the week.

The other perched hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Menerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, and Oppede le vieux are all 10-15 minutes away.

Fontaine de Vaucluse and the antiques capital of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue are 20 minutes away, the medieval city of Avignon is 40 minutes, and within an hour or so are Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Arles, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

You can make a comfortable day-trip to the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

Nearby Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France.

A wonderful place to stay!

Before leaving, we started dreaming of when to come back ... Ailies studio is the most wonderful hideaway for two! Walking to the baker, the fromagerie and the butcher - or a restaurant, spending hours sitting in the comfortable chairs looking out of the window: Luberon at its most beautiful with the changing sunlight from the early morning till sunset. Walking in the surroundings, the hills, the paths - and the small roads - admiring vineyards, olive trees, cascades of almondblossoms, changing colours, smiling people always greeting Bon Jour! Coming back in the afternoon, sometimes evening, tired legs and happy souls! The studio, so clean, so beautiful - aesthetic in every detail! Nothing missing - except staying longer ....

A perfect stay

We stayed for two weeks in the studio. The location is great as it’s a couple of minutes walk to the heart of Goult which is a delightful village hosting at least four excellent restaurants. There is secure parking for a car and the studio itself is light and airy with the most stunning views over the Petit Luberon. We lacked for nothing and it was lovely to find a full size fridge with freezer. The air con and free standing fan came in very useful as it was extremely hot. The studio was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Ailie was an excellent host, not intrusive but available if necessary. We are definitely coming back!

What a view!!

Fantastic studio, amazing view and spot on location! Would recommend without hesitation. Very clean, had thought of everything you could possibly want and more! Ailie struck the balance incredibly well of being discreet but available should you need any help or guidance - shared great advice on local walks. The location is perfect for exploring the area. We did a mix of staying in to eat (you really can't beat the view and tranquility of the studio for a lovely evening in) and also visiting the very tasty restaurants in the village which are all within easy walking distance. Goult itself is lovely. All in all a fantastic find! We didn't want to leave and that says it all really!
