The Location

Gordes, 4 miles away, is one of the most beautiful villages in France.

The house is in quiet and beautiful countryside of vineyards and orchards, right in the Golden Triangle of the Luberon, with the closest villages Gordes, 4 miles away, and Goult, 2.5miles away.

Gordes and Goult are two of the most striking villages of Provence. Gordes is the most majestic of the Luberon hill-top villages, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and cultural events, while Goult is a relatively unknown treasure, with good eateries and a beautifully preserved old neighbourhood with bakery, butcher, grocery store.

Close by are all the other notable hill-top villages like Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Goult, Oppede le vieux, and Roussillon. Each is 10-15 minutes away, and Lourmarin is 30 minutes.

Fontaine de Vaucluse and the antiques capital of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue are 15 minutes away, the medieval city of Avignon is 40 minutes, and within an hour or so are Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Arles, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

You'll find a market every day at a different village, including the one in Gordes on Tuesday mornings.

Starry, Starry Nights

Highly recommend staying at Bellevue. In this crazy, crazy year, our four week stay in this wonderful stone house in the heart of the Luberon was exactly what we needed. We wanted to do a lot of exploring of all the surrounding villages and the location of the property was perfect. The house is situated on a hill that allows for perfect views across the valley during the day and the starry sky at night. We became obsessed with seeing the sunrise in the morning accompanied by the hot air balloons that would take flight but watching the rising moon after dinner from the terrace was nothing short of cinema. The house itself is charming, clean, spacious and well-orientated. The listing description is spot on and the owner provided excellent customer service.

Belle Bellvue

In this crazy year this was the perfect escape in the most beautiful part of Provence. St Pantlaleon is a wonderfully quiet village well located between Gordes and Goult with easy access to the villages of the Luberon. The house is perfectly secluded on the side of a hill with stunning views to the east over vineyards, and with a beautiful large garden and delightful pool. We probably should have done more exploring of the surrounding villages but the garden was so peaceful that it was difficult to escape. The dining terrace is perfectly located for relaxing mornings in the sun, and shaded in the afternoon from the heat of the day. If you're up early the sunrise is stunning!! The house is superbly equipped and charmingly spacious throughout and the customer service and house staff were excellent. We are a family of 4 + dog and it has been the perfect escape for us this year. The only downside was having to leave and return to London, but we are definitely looking forward to returning.

Provencal Perfection!

Our four week stay at Bellvue in the little hamlet of St, Panteleon was absolute perfection. The lovely stone house and grounds surrounding the property with gardens, vineyard, pool and terrace are exquisitely maintained and the views are spectacular, particularly at sunrise and sunset. The house itself is charming and spacious and graciously appointed. We loved cooking in the wonderfully well-equipped kitchen on 'market days' and dining on the beautiful terrace enjoying the sweeping views with our family and friends. Bellvue is perfectly situated. Gordes, Goult, and Coustellet are all less than a ten minute drive. And there are many other beautiful villages not far from Bellvue: Rousillon, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbes, among others. Lacoste was a particular favorite, recommended by the owners of Bellvue. If you like gardens then be sure to check with the owner of the exquisite private garden, Le Jardin du Louve, which is the setting for their personal residence in Bonnieux. There is a website through which you can arrange a private tour. We never missed the Sunday morning farmers' market in Coustellet. Such beautiful, fresh produce and such friendly people. So many memorable and enjoyable acquisitions including lavender honey, fresh berries, mache and the loveliest sunflowers. And we never missed the beautiful drive on Friday mornings to the market in Lourmarin. The bread man alone was worth the visit. But Lourmarin offers so much more for a true Provencal market experience, including a beautiful 15th century chateau on the hill overlooking the village. Dominique, the property manager, was wonderful and extremely helpful. We cannot recommend Bellvue highly enough as it was the perfect oasis for our autumn visit to beautiful Provence.
