The Location

Scenes from the village of Goult, in the heart of the Luberon.

The house is half a mile from the centre of Goult, one of the best villages of the Luberon. It is a 10-minute stroll to all the amenities. Goult is a little-known gem of a village, with a lovely atmosphere, a good café/restaurant on the main square, and several other good restaurants, as well as a 'hidden' and beautifully preserved old neighbourhood with bakery, butcher, grocery store. The village also has public tennis courts.

Goult has a seasonal market on Thursday mornings, and there is a market in a nearby village every day of the week.

The other perched hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Menerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, and Oppede le vieux are all 10-15 minutes away.

Fontaine de Vaucluse and the antiques capital of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue are 20 minutes away, the medieval city of Avignon is 40 minutes, and within an hour or so are Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Arles, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

You can make a comfortable day-trip to the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

Nearby Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Perfect holiday house

We loved our week in this fantastic villa. The house is as described and better. It is beautifully clean and well maintained both inside and out. Photos cannot do justice to the beautiful situation, the panorama from the pool, the gorgeous plants around the house and pool, so thoughtfully designed, as well as the numerous wonderful outside seating and relaxing options. The pool is absolutely superb. A wonderful feature of the house is the sense of indoor/outdoor living, with lovely balconies and views, the kitchen leading to the outside terrace and light pouring in everywhere. The inside of the house is stylish, comfortable, and well fitted out - top quality beds and en suites for each room a real bonus, and we loved the kitchen. It was hard to tear ourselves away but when we did, Goult is an easy stroll and has a few lovely restaurants as well as grocery shop and provencal market. The surrounding villages and countryside are beautiful too. This really is a perfect holiday house in every respect.

An absolute gem!!

We recently stayed in Suzanne's lovely home for three weeks at the beginning of the summer. Not only is her home absolutely gorgeous, she has it meticulously organized to have everything a visitor might need to make themselves at home. There are plenty of towels and supplies, the kitchen is completely stocked with every utensil you need to cook, and she has a thorough house book with recommendations, tips, and tricks. Suzanne is always reachable but she also has a lovely house manager and pool/garden manager who live just nearby the house and always responded instantly. Each room in the house is lovely, and it is fantastic that they each have their own bathroom. The pool gets full sun all day and the water is the perfect temperature, she even has her own lovely garden of lavender planted nearby, so you feel as if you have your own private lavender field! The entire grounds of her house has gorgeous trees, plants, and flowers, it is truly stunning. The house is located just 10 minutes from the heart of adorable Goult where there are a few restaurants and shops. We rented bikes from a local shop that Suzanne recommended and you can reach many towns nearby such as Gordes, Joucas, Menerbes, Roussillon, etc. We were so sad to leave Suzanne's gorgeous house and cannot wait to go back next summer! I cannot recommend her home enough..we give it 10 stars!
