A new apartment right in the buzzing town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, up two flights of stairs on the 2nd floor which means it has a lot of light, and views on both sides. There is a master bedroom and 2 bathrooms, as well as the possibility of sleeping an extra person on the mezzanine level above the living room.

Kitchen under the mezzanine, master bedroom is through door to right.
The main space of the loft apartment is the living room with kitchen along one wall and dining table. The kitchen is well equipped with 4-ring cooker, oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, clothes washing machine and dryer, and Nespresso coffee machine. The living room has TV/DVD with French and English-language channels.

Above the living room, up the wrought-iron spiral staircase, is the mezzanine level with work-desk, high-speed WiFi, printer, free internet phone, as well as the guest bed for one. The loft feels bright and spacious thanks to high ceiling and dual aspect windows with views to Mont Ventoux and a water wheel on one side, and the old centre of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue on the other.
Bedrooms
The apartment can sleep 3 people, as there is a double bedroom and also a single guest bed on the mezzanine level over the living room, and two bathrooms. It's also perfect for a couple who prefer a bathroom each.

The apartment has views on both sides. To the north the view is out of town to the white-topped Mont Ventoux, with a foreground of the river and water wheel, and the free car park where locals play petanque. The view to the south is towards the centre of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue - colourful facades and rooftops of the old quarter. There is free parking in the car park just across the river footbridge. In a medieval town like L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue this is really convenient. | ![]() |

The Location
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
The Provence town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is known as the antiques capital of France, with a great concentration of antiques stores and a famous Sunday market for antiques and bric-a-brac, as well as food. The apartment is in the old centre, on the northern edge by the river. It is a 2-minute stroll to the boutiques and boulangeries, cafes and restaurants. Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a place that is buzzing year-round.
The perched hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Menerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Goult, and Oppede le vieux are all 15-30 minutes away.
Fontaine de Vaucluse is a couple of miles upstream, the medieval city of Avignon is 30 minutes, and within an hour are Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.
You can make a comfortable day-trip to the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

10/10
We stayed at the River Loft in L’Isle Sur la Sorgue beginning 7 March with an intended stay until 16 May. Due to the corona virus, we had to return to Australia, leaving on 21 March. The owners Patrick and Katy generously offered to refund the rent we had paid in advance for the unused part of our stay. The apartment was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well appointed. It is situated on the river in a quiet section of the town, but very close to shops and restaurants and other interesting villages. On arrival, Patrick welcomed us with wine and snacks. He ensured that we were comfortable, and was very prompt in attending to any questions we had about the facilities in the apartment. Patrick was a friendly and welcoming host and I would highly recommend the apartment and the lovely town of L’isle sur la Sorgue. In our opinion it is 10/10.

Your review title
We had a fabulous 3 days at this wonderful loft apartment. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The pre-arrival communication from the owners was great and Patrick was on hand when we arrived with invaluable information on the area. I would (and have already) recommend this property to friends and family. We cant wait to return.. Thanks for having us!

Great 4 week stay
Very enjoyable stay in a well furnished modern interior apartment . Good quality towels too ! Excellent location for us with car parking available and a close walk to the centre . The double glazed windows totally stopped any play ground noise from the adjoining junior primary school ,although we were happy to have the windows open virtually all the time . We would happily return here for another holiday . Stu
