The air-conditioned living room and kitchen are in a double-height space filled with light, with exposed ceiling beams and dual-aspect windows. The living room has sofa and armchair, TV/DVD with TNTSat channels, and writing desk. Through the large windows is the view down the rue de la Republique in the centre of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The apartment sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms.

The Location

Scenes from L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where the house is located.

The apartment is right in the heart of the superb market town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, known as the antiques capital of France, with a great concentration of antiques stores and a famous Sunday market for antiques and bric-a-brac, as well as food. This picturesque town of waterways and a historic centre has many restaurants, cafes and stores, and the town is alive year-round.

The perched hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Menerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Goult, and Oppede le vieux are all 15-30 minutes away.

Fontaine de Vaucluse is a couple of miles upstream, the medieval city of Avignon is 30 minutes, and within an hour are Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

You can make a comfortable day-trip to the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

Great location in lovely town

The apartment was all that we expected and more. Eva was a kind and gracious host who ensured our visit was exceptional. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there! The facilities were modern and even with the extremely hot weather we had the air conditioning was more than adequate. We hope to return soon.

Perfect location in charming Provencal town...

If you have ever dreamed about a picture perfect French town that offers everything from outdoor weekly markets to wonderful bakeries and restaurants, amazing antique shops and an open friendly community, this town is that dream come true! I booked this apt. for 7 weeks based on the photos provided here, email correspondence with the owner Eva, and some research on L'Isle Sur la Sorgue. The apartment is in the optimum location right in the heart of this charming town. You can walk everywhere! The river that winds through town, shopping and restaurants are all few steps away from the front door. The apt. is better than the photos show in that it is airy and open with high ceilings and oversized windows that let in the gorgeous sunshine that dominates Provence weather. I am a seasoned traveler and have rented many apartments and this ranks tops for amenities. Comfortable firm beds with quality linens, large bathroom w super shower pressure, washer/dryer/dishwasher, A/C/ well equipped kitchen and great fast internet! The bonus is Eva, the owner. Professional, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area, she wants to ensure you have the best vacation possible. 10 stars for her!
