The Location

Scenes from the village of Joucas.

The house is 400 metre from Joucas, one of the lovely hill-top villages of the Luberon. Joucas has a food store, cafe, tennis courts and a playground. And surprisingly for a small, quiet village, there are three good restaurants in walking distance.

All the other picture-perfect 'perched' hill-top villages of the Luberon are within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux, Bonnieux, and Goult. Just beyond are the antiques capital of Isle sur la Sorgue and the very lovely Fontaine de Vaucluse.

Within an hour are Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

There is a market every day in one of the surrounding villages.

You can make a comfortable day-trip of the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

Just perfect

Lovely place. Beautifully and simply kept, open spaces, wonderful light. Perfect location, walking distance to Joucas. Incredibly relaxing and peaceful, and the kids loved it. Can’t wait to return.

A secret paradise

While the Maison Les Apies doesn't appear on the major booking websites, it is secret gem. Impeccably maintained, in walking distance from Joucas, it is the kind of place once dreams about. From playing pingping or swimming at the house, to boules or dining at the Terradse at Joucas, we had a truly wonderful holiday. We had a 7 year old with us who was in heaven: the place is wonderful for children who can run around in the garden and in and out of the single-floor house. Krissy was a wonderful contact, we found the place easily through the supplied directions, payment was a cinch, and she was always available for any query. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!

Loved everything about being here

We had a lovely holiday in Provence, made all the more special by our stay at Maison Les Apies, nestled amongst the vineyards of Joucas. The house is just lovely. It’s spacious, light, airy, and has been very well designed, and furnished beautifully. We were able to spend a lot of time relaxing here as it’s incredibly quiet even when outside. The living room is the star of the show, but the bedrooms, bathrooms, mezzanine snug (great for the kids), the internet speed was good and the well-equipped kitchen complements the house very well. The outside space is really lovely. The large garden has a great swimming pool, relaxing sun beds, and it’s very private and the views towards the Luberon mountains are marvellous. The house is a 2 minute walk into Joucas, which is a pleasant little village, with a couple of restaurants and grocery store. The beautiful hilltop village of Gordes is 5 minutes’ by car. We cannot wait to return to this special place.
