The Location
![]() | ![]() |
Lourmarin with its Renaissance chateau and striking outline.
The house has a wonderful location in the much-coveted village of Lourmarin, so it takes 1 minute to walk into the centre with its many restaurants, cafes spilling onto the street, and boutiques. Lourmarin is one of the star villages of the Luberon, and is alive year-round. If you like tennis the courts are 200 metres away.
Lourmarin is very well situated for both the north and south Luberons. To the north you are 20-30 minutes from other celebrated hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, Goult, Oppede le vieux, etc. As well as towns like the antiques mecca of Isle sur la Sorgue, and Fontaine de Vaucluse, where the Sorgue river emerges fully formed from deep underground.
And to the south are more idyllic Luberon villages - Cucuron, Cadenet, Ansouis, etc. - less visited but equally picturesque. Market day in Lourmarin is Friday mornings and there are other markets every day of the week in neighbouring villages.
Aix-en-Provence is 30 minutes away, and 60-90 minutes away are the splendid Provence cities of Avignon, Arles, St Remy, Tarascon, Orange, Nimes, as well as the Camargue, Marseille, and the Rhone wine trail. The French Riviera is 2 hours away and you can be swimming in the sea in less than 90 minutes.

Merci beaucoup!
This was the perfect place to stay with friends and family. It is wonderfully presented and in a fantastic location to explore both Lourmarin and the Luberon in general. Lots of delicious food and wine, sun, laughter and comfort. Merci beaucoup!

We'll be back
We just finished our 7 day stay at La Maison. It is beautifully furnished and the garden is such a delight. We stayed with our 3 children and our friends - all of us had fun and found our space in this gorgeous house. We loved walking to the village, and when it was warm, jumping in the gorgeous pool. We really appreciated the care and just the way the house has been looked after, we will definitely be back.

A wonderful stay in Lourmarin
We enjoyed two wonderful weeks in the Lourmarin House. The house was impeccably well kept, beautifully maintained, and well stocked for our family of 5. Walter and the house staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure we felt comfortable, providing us with many recommendations of where to go and what to do. We truly felt at home. The beautiful pool was definitely the highlight for the children. We highly recommend this beautiful home away from home!
