The Location

Lourmarin with its Renaissance chateau and striking outline.

The house has an amazing location right across the field from Lourmarin, so it takes 1 minute to walk into the centre with its many restaurants, cafes spilling onto the street, and boutiques. Lourmarin is one of the star villages of the Luberon.

Lourmarin is very well situated for both the north and south Luberons. To the north you are 20-30 minutes from other celebrated hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, Goult, Oppede le vieux, etc. As well as towns like the antiques mecca of Isle sur la Sorgue, and Fontaine de Vaucluse, where the Sorgue river emerges fully formed from deep underground.

And to the south are more idyllic Luberon villages - Cucuron, Cadenet, Ansouis, etc. - less visited but equally picturesque. Market day in Lourmarin is Friday mornings and there are other markets every day of the week in neighbouring villages.

Within 45-90 minutes are the splendid Provence cities of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Arles, St Remy, Tarascon, Orange, Nimes, as well as the Camargue, Marseille, and the Rhone wine trail. The French Riviera is 2 hours away and you can be swimming in the sea in less than 90 minutes.

5 star holiday

We've had one of our best holidays ever in Castle Grange. The location is stunning - in the garden there's a 360 panorama of olive trees, cypresses, distant mountains and the neighbouring Chateau (which is well worth visiting). The house, with its high, high ceilings is spacious, cool and beautifully furnished with everything you need - just a pleasure to be there. Unlike a lot of pools, the Castle Grange pool is big enough for a really good swim and for all of us was one of the real pleasures of our stay. Really, it's all just as the webpage says. A short walk into Lourmarin (more gorgeous views), and the village is very charming (and great for people watching!). There were six of us and we all fell in love with this part of Provence, the Vaucluse. So much to see! There are bikes at the house and several of us were out every day on them. Definitely go and visit Fontaine de Vaucluse, a river town. Geoffrey, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful. So, a wonderful location in every way and highly recommended.

A paradise in Provence

My family and I spent a wonderful holiday at the Castle Grange in the summer of 2015. The house is very comfortable and and tastefully decorated. It has all the assets for an ideal holiday: great setting, quiet surroundings and walking distance from the village, its restaurants and market. The house has a large and pretty garden and a beautiful pool, we spent a lot of time outside enjoying meals in the sunset. Mr. Geoffrey, the owner, was very welcoming and friendly upon arrival and always helpful whenever we needed his assistance or advice. HIs kindness certainly made our stay even more enjoyable. We are returning to the Castle Grange this summer and very much looking forward to it. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to experience Provence at its best!

Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at the Castle Grange in August 2016. This beautiful property is in a great location in picturesque Lourmarin and is superbly equipped. It even came with a set of bicycles for all the family. The owner was very happy to help with any questions about the property and surrounding attractions. We stayed for two weeks and when not relaxing in the garden by the pool we had plenty to explore in the surrounding area. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and would be keen to visit this wonderful part of France again.
