Spacious village house with pool

 

A great 4-bedroom house for 9 people, with pool and a/c, in one of the best villages in Provence - Lourmarin with its excellent restaurants, cafes and food stores, all 1 minute's stroll away, as well as the outstanding market on Fridays. (There will be no cancellation fee applied in the event movement is affected by Covid 19 travel restrictions, there would be a full refund minus any bank charges).

Living Rooms

This is a charming old village house, full of character, that has been restored to take in contemporary comforts like air conditioning, high-quality beds and bathrooms, and a pool. Accommodation is set over 3 floors with the garden and pool on a lower level.

 

 

The air-conditioned ground floor is all open-plan with kitchen, dining and living room, and then steps down to the garden and pool below.

The modern kitchen is equipped with oven, 4-ring cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer.

From the kitchen the room extends to the dining table with huge windows looking down on to the garden, and through an arch a very cosy sitting room with sofas and working stone fireplace.

Also on the ground floor is a guest WC.

Through the arch is the sitting room, and at the far end the kitchen.

Upstairs is the TV room with an L-shaped sofa and Smart TV/DVD with Orange TV and Netflix. The house has WiFi internet throughout both the house and garden.

The house has a large secure storage room with separate entrance off the street which is perfect for bikes, without having to bring them into the house.




Bedrooms

There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, over two upstairs floors. The house sleeps 9 including at least one child.

The air-conditioned master bedroom is on the middle floor, with a 1.8m-wide (6ft) bed, and its bathroom is also in the bedroom, with walk-in shower, double basins and WC.

Also on the middle floor is bedroom 2 (above) with a 1.4m-wide (4.6ft) double bed and country view.

The large family bathroom (above) is on a half-level up, and has bath, walk-in shower, double basins, and separate WC.

Bedroom 4 on the top floor sleeps 2 + 1 child. Bedroom 3 with 2 singles or 1 double.

Bedroom 3 (above right) can be configured as two singles or zipped together to make a 1.8m-wide (6ft) bed.

On the top floor is a large air-conditioned room with a 1.8m-wide (6ft) double (above left), and the option of sleeping a child on the raised bed, which has a long mattress with one pillow at each end. This children's bed is accessed up 3 small steps and has a protective rail. This room also has a country view.



Outside

Although this is a village house it has the great benefit of a garden and pool.

 

The pool measures 8.5m x 4.5m (28 x 15ft), and is 1.7m deep, with steps at one end.

 

Around the pool are lawn and sunloungers, and under the UVA/B shade of the large pergola is the outside dining table, along with Weber barbecue.

 

By the pool, on the garden level of the house, is a summer kitchen (above right) with fridge, sink and dishwasher, as well as WC and clothes washing machine. There is also an outside shower.

The house is in a quiet road on the outer edge of the village, with free street parking close by. Secure underground parking 4 minutes' walk from the property can be accessed for an additional fee.


The Location

The house has a wonderful location in the much-coveted village of Lourmarin, so it takes 1 minute to walk into the centre with its many restaurants, cafes spilling onto the street, and boutiques. Lourmarin is one of the star villages of the Luberon, and is alive year-round. If you like tennis the courts are 200 metres away.

Lourmarin is very well situated for both the north and south Luberons. To the north you are 20-30 minutes from other celebrated hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, Goult, Oppede le vieux, etc. As well as towns like the antiques mecca of Isle sur la Sorgue, and Fontaine de Vaucluse, where the Sorgue river emerges fully formed from deep underground.

And to the south are more idyllic Luberon villages - Cucuron, Cadenet, Ansouis, etc. - less visited but equally picturesque. Market day in Lourmarin is Friday mornings and there are other markets every day of the week in neighbouring villages.

Aix-en-Provence is 30 minutes away, and 60-90 minutes away are the splendid Provence cities of Avignon, Arles, St Remy, Tarascon, Orange, Nimes, as well as the Camargue, Marseille, and the Rhone wine trail. The French Riviera is 2 hours away and you can be swimming in the sea in less than 90 minutes.

Superb stay in a stunning location.

We were a party of two couples and stayed at this amazing villa for a week in September. We enjoyed every moment we spent at Maison De Savornin which is ideally situated less than 250m from the centre of the village of Lourmain, yet is quiet and peaceful at all times. The villa itself is exceptional. All the rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable. Over a number of floors everything you need for a perfect vacation is here, including the garden, pool and outside facilities, which are private and meet all requirements for rest and relaxation. Lourmarin is a very special village with fabulous boutiques and galleries to browse through and a large selection of restaurants for an amazing dining experience. The market held on Fridays is not to be missed. Numerous nearby villages are a pleasure to visit as are the beautiful cities of Aix en Provence and Avignon which are within driving distance also. We would highly recommend staying at Maison De Savornin and we can’t wait to return to this stunning part of Provence and to stay at this flawless villa. A 5 star experience in every way.

Everything you need!

We are a family of four, with two teenagers, who stayed in Maison de Savornin for a week at the end of July. Everything was perfect and can't wait to return already! It's such a fantastic location, to be able to walk into the village with ease but yet still be peaceful and have the outdoor space is ideal. The garden is really beautiful & peaceful and the pool is great for a dip on a warm day. Owners have thought of everything in the kit out and we had no need of anything else whilst we were there. Lourmarin is a great base to explore the Luberon from and we had an excellent day on electric bikes from Bonnieux touring other villages like Menerbes & Roussillon. Highly recommend you do that. There's A/C in the house but you won't really need it as there is a lovely breeze passing through the large windows when you open them out. Kitchen and summer kitchen are well kitted out so prepare for some nice relaxing meals using local ingredients. The Friday market in the village is a must! All in all a super house, wonderfully located in a beautiful village. Highly recommend.

We love Maison de Savornin!

We love Maison de Savornin. It is a five-star home, in the best location, in one of the most beautiful village in Provence. This is our second visit and feel so fortunate to return. First, I can’t say enough about the location. The house is within easy walking distance to Café Gaby (great for a glass of wine or coffee and to watch the people stroll by), a wonderful friendly bakery, several art galleries , numerous restaurants, small markets, and lovely shops. The colorful and expansive Friday market and Le Chateau are only a few blocks away. At the same time it is at the quiet end of the village, with little traffic, as most park outside the village. It also serves as a great place to tour all of Provence; we traveled to many of the beautiful villages: Gordes, Cucuron, Ansuis, Bonnieux …as well as side trips to Aix en Provence, Marseille, Cassis, and even Menton and Monaco. After every trip I was grateful to return to Maison de Savornin and pleased that I chose this location. Le Maison is gorgeous, spacious, sparkling clean, well-appointed, and served all of our needs. There are large windows offering ample sun and lovely vistas from every window. The kitchen is fully equipped, opening to dining and sitting areas that make cooking and entertaining a joy. The garden is perfect for dining al fresco and can handle many guests. It has the perfect combination of a spacious chateau and an in-village home. All of our guest could wander through the village at will without a car, or find solitude or gathering places within the house and garden. I can’t recommend Maison De Savornin enough—it’s spectacular. We will return (again).

Included in the rate: bedlinen, towels, pool towels, utilities, WiFi internet, and after-stay clean. Also included are garden and pool maintenance.

To secure a booking you would pay a 25% deposit, with the balance payable 8 weeks before your stay.

Cancellation policy: If we can find another renter for your dates we will return any money sent (minus bank charges). For 2020 There will be no cancellation fee applied in the event movement is affected by Covid 19 travel restrictions.
 Rental periods run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am. For longer periods in the off-season, rates are negotiable depending on length of stay.

The security deposit against breakage or damage is 500 euros, and is returned after your stay.

The house is for a maximum of 9 people (including at least one child). Pets and smoking are not allowed in the house.
