Menerbes 1-bedroom with private pool and view

A 1-bedroom home that ticks every box: private pool and garden; view over lavender field and hills to the Luberon mountain; 4 minutes' walk to the bakery, grocery, bar and restaurants of Menerbes. It is rare to find a 1-bedroom with private pool, but this house offers everything else too.

Living Rooms

When this house is not rented, it is a 4-bedroom house, and when it is rented the three other bedrooms are removed from the equation, so you get the whole property to yourselves, and a lot of garden and pool for 2 people.

The house is all on one level with living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, and along the front a terrace over the garden and pool, and lavender field beyond.

The living room has sofas and armchairs facing the view and opens out to the terrace. There is TV with French TNT channels, DVD library and WiFi throughout.

The Provencal country kitchen/dining room also opens out to the terrace where there is an outside dining table and two sunloungers under the shade of the awning. The kitchen is equipped with oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, 4-ring stove, and there is a washing machine in the utility room.

The bedroom has a 1.6m-wide bed (5.25ft) and its en suite bathroom has shower, basin and WC.

Garden & Pool

The outside space is over different levels, with the terrace along the front, and under that the pool, lawn and shaded woods area. The southwest-facing terrace has dining table, sunloungers and gas barbecue, and looks over the lavender field.

The pool is 11m x 4m (36 x 13ft) and has sunloungers alongside. With the different levels in the garden, as well as the steps down to the house, this property is not suitable for those with mobility issues.

There are two private, off-street parking spots 20 metres from the house.

The Location

Menerbes on its hilltop from the north.
Menerbes viewThe square at the top.

The house is in a verdant setting only 4 minutes' walk to the centre of the wonderful village of Menerbes, with bakery, grocery, bar and restaurants on the doorstep.

Menerbes rises up like a ship from the sea of vineyards that run along the Luberon valley and is officially one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'.

The village of Menerbes has ancient buildings, towers and churches, with narrow streets that wind their way up to the square at the top of the village. From up here there are lovely views of the surrounding countryside, the Luberon mountain and Mont Ventoux. In the centre of Menerbes are three restaurants, a bar, baker and a grocery store.

All the other picture-perfect 'perched' hill-top villages of the Luberon are within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux and Goult. Just beyond are the antiques capital of Isle sur la Sorgue and the very lovely Fontaine de Vaucluse.

Within an hour are Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

There is a market every day in one of the surrounding villages, and in Menerbes itself there is a market on Thursdays.

You can make a comfortable day-trip of the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.
