Garden & Pool

The apartment and its 2 neighbouring units are set in land at the top of the hill above Menerbes, amid pine trees and the garrigue that gives the apartment its name. The apartments share a pool which is on a higher level 20 metres away, with great view of the Luberon mountain and valley. The pool measures 12m x 5m (40 x 16ft), and has sunloungers and shaded table and chairs.

The south-facing terrace also has the Luberon view, and is shaded by a pergola. Between the apartment and the pool is a planted garden, with gravel pathway to the pool area. The pool area is accessed up some steps.

There is off-street parking and the lane is only used by the few houses along it - at the level of the apartments this lane peters out so it is very quiet.
The Location
![]() | ![]() |
High above the cares of the world, but just a 3-minute stroll down the hill to the wonderful village of Menerbes, this is an ideal year-round haven for those who want both countryside and village life.
Menerbes rises up like a ship from the sea of vineyards that run along the Luberon valley and is officially one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'.
The village of Menerbes has ancient buildings, towers and churches, with narrow streets that wind their way up to the square at the top of the village. From up here there are lovely views of the surrounding countryside, the Luberon mountain and Mont Ventoux. In the centre of Menerbes are three restaurants, a bar, baker and a grocery store.
All the other picture-perfect 'perched' hill-top villages of the Luberon are within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux and Goult. Just beyond are the antiques capital of Isle sur la Sorgue and the very lovely Fontaine de Vaucluse.
Within an hour are Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.
There is a market every day in one of the surrounding villages, and in Menerbes itself there is a market on Thursdays.
You can make a comfortable day-trip of the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

A paradise within reach
The apartment is superbe and even better looking than the photos, but the yard, the quiet, the sound of the Mistral...is paradise. We were all alone in this heavenly retreat and I can tell you there's nothing better than Provence. Menerbes is a very good choice for a stay in Provence, because it is a beautiful small village very close to all the others that worth seeing (and there's a lot of them!!!). But going back to this house and Dominique, the host - it was perfect and we are already thinking of coming back real soon. Perfect - perfect - perfect! What a beautiful place to get lost in!

Idyllic
We stayed here during the summer 2016 with my husbands brother and his wife. The owners Dominique and Thierry were just lovely and very very helpful. We had lovely stay and I have to say that the view from the appartment was fantastic. The good thing about this particular apartment is that you can sit out on the veranda which is shaded during the early day, or outside the front of the apartment which is shaded in the evening, or the opposite way round if you like the sun. Also the veranda is totally private. The location is also perfect as you are only a very short walk into town which you can do in less than five minutes or walking slow probably 15 minutes. The town is quiet but in a good way and you should visit Café du Progrès, might not look much from the outside, but there is a great balcony in the back, well worth it for drinks and even a bite to eat. We would certainly go again.

Lovely escape
Our family of five spent a wonderful 9 nights in this delightful apartment on the edge of Ménerbes. Brand new and very tastefully appointed, it has the best of both worlds: the seclusion of being just out of the village in a lovely rural setting with a sparkling pool, yet close enough to the village that you can easily stroll down to the very picturesque centre of town for dinner or a coffee. The pool is shared between the two adjacent apartments but is big enough to share! Dominique and Thierry are a delightful couple who own the apartment and live nearby. They are great hosts, happy to share information about the region and provide any help needed with the apartment, but only intruding when called upon. We really enjoyed getting to know them both... Finally, the region is adorable. After visiting five or six of the perched villages in the area, we felt Ménerbes to be the most appealing, with a nice balance between authenticity and tourism. Like all of the villages of the region, it exudes character!
