Modern apartment with pool, short stroll into classic Provence village

Pool with great country views. The apartment is the right hand part of the house.

A hilltop house converted into two contemporary apartments with gorgeous high views, pool, and a perfect location - in peaceful countryside but only three minutes walk into the stunning village of Menerbes. The apartment sleeps 4 people in 2 air-conditioned bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Everything is new for 2015.

Living Room

Living room and kitchen are open plan and set around the fireplace and big french doors to the garden. The apartment has large openings all round and is full of light. Air conditioning from the bedrooms usually cools the whole apartment.


The kitchen is equipped with 3-ring stove, table-top combination microwave/grill, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Between kitchen and living room is a dining table, as well as outside eating on the patio.

The apartment sleeps 4 people in two air-conditioned bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. Bedroom 1 (above) has a 1.6m-wide (5.25ft) double bed and bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and WC.


Bedroom 2 - either a double or two singles - with en suite bathroom.

Bedroom 2 (above) can have either two single beds or a 1.6m-wide double, and its bathroom also has shower, basin and WC.

Garden & Pool

The apartment and 2 neighbouring units are set in land at the top of the hill above Menerbes, amid pine trees and the garrigue that gives the apartment its name.


The apartments share a pool which is on a higher level 20 metres away, with great view of the Luberon mountain and valley. The pool measures 12m x 5m (40 x 16ft).

There is a patio at the front of the apartment, with dining table and garden furniture. Between house and pool is a planted garden, with gravel pathway to the pool area.

There is off-street parking and the lane is only used by the few houses along it - at the level of the apartments this lane peters out so it is very quiet.

The Location

High above the cares of the world, but just a 3-minute stroll down the hill to the wonderful village of Menerbes, this is an ideal year-round haven for those who want both countryside and village life.

Menerbes rises up like a ship from the sea of vineyards that run along the Luberon valley and is officially one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'.

The village of Menerbes has ancient buildings, towers and churches, with narrow streets that wind their way up to the square at the top of the village. From up here there are lovely views of the surrounding countryside, the Luberon mountain and Mont Ventoux. In the centre of Menerbes are three restaurants, a bar, baker and a grocery store.

All the other picture-perfect 'perched' hill-top villages of the Luberon are within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux and Goult. Just beyond are the antiques capital of Isle sur la Sorgue and the very lovely Fontaine de Vaucluse.

Within an hour are Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

There is a market every day in one of the surrounding villages, and in Menerbes itself there is a market on Thursdays.

You can make a comfortable day-trip of the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

Beautiful property and location

We loved staying at the Garrigue. The location is perfect - in beautiful countryside but a short walk from the village where there are shops and restaurants. The pool was lovely. The apartment itself was well equipped with strong air conditioning and it was very clean. Dominique was a great host. We have already booked to return next year!

Perfect location

We stayed for one week in this wonderful holiday home.The location is perfect, if you like a beautiful view, tasteful furnishing and a lot of privacy. And it is just a nice stroll to the village center with lovely restaurants and cafes. Dominique and Thierry are excellent hosts, very helpful in every situation. We loved to stay there. And we would love to come back to this gorgous part of Provence. Thank you very much , Dominique and Thierry

Loved It!

Our group of two couples spent five nights in the apartment in July of 2015 and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Dominique - who is fluent in English - was hospitable, friendly, and generous with her time. We were very late in arriving yet she stayed up to make sure we found the apartment in the dark and got settled in. The apartment was perfect for us - quiet, beautiful settling, great swimming pool. The kitchen was well equipped and was stocked with the basics like coffee to get us started. Dominique brought us some Herbs d' Provence for cooking and checked on us to make sure we were doing well. The village is a short walk down the hill and had a great bakery and small grocery store. Could not ask for a better host or holiday. We hope to return soon!

Included in the rental rates: bedlinen, towels, utilities, WiFi internet, and after-stay clean.

To secure a booking you would send a 25% deposit, with the balance payable up to 8 weeks before your stay.

There is a refundable security deposit of 300 euros against any breakages or damage.
 Rental periods run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am.

Cancellation policy: if we can find another booking for your dates we will return any money sent (minus bank charges).

The house is for a maximum of 4 people. We regret that pets and smoking are not allowed in the apartment.
