The balcony has table and chairs, a sofa, and an electric barbecue. The view is high and wide, facing southwest over the valley and to the Luberon mountain.

The kitchen has oven, 3-ring induction stove, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, Senseo coffee machine and a second dining table for 4. In a separate room are clothes washing machine and dryer.

The house is the one with the blue shutter. Looking out from the balcony on the valley side.

The house is in the main street of Menerbes, close to the restaurants and next to the picturesque little grocery store. There is no through-traffic in the village and visitors are encouraged by the one-way system to park and walk around, so the centre has something of a pedestrianised feel to it.

The Location

Menerbes on its hilltop from the north.
Menerbes viewThe square at the top.

This house is right in the centre of the wonderful village of Menerbes, with bakery, bar and restaurants on the doorstep.

Menerbes rises up like a ship from the sea of vineyards that run along the Luberon valley and is officially one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'.

The village of Menerbes has ancient buildings, towers and churches, with narrow streets that wind their way up to the square at the top of the village. From up here there are lovely views of the surrounding countryside, the Luberon mountain and Mont Ventoux. In the centre of Menerbes are four restaurants, a bar, baker and a grocery store.

All the other picture-perfect 'perched' hill-top villages of the Luberon are within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux and Goult. Just beyond are the antiques capital of Isle sur la Sorgue and the very lovely Fontaine de Vaucluse.

Within an hour are Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail.

There is a market every day in one of the surrounding villages, and in Menerbes itself there is a market on Thursdays.

You can make a comfortable day-trip of the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon.

Scenes from Menerbes. There is a well stocked little grocery, bar, restaurants, and bakery.

Charming place right in Menerbes

The home was in Menerbes and gave us a first hand opportunity to experience life in a hill town. We found the home to be well maintained with spectacular views of the valley and the mountains, a beautiful living rooom, a comfortable kitchen, a spacious bedroom (actually two), a porch with a stunning view and a front row seat on the main street of Menerbes. There were good restaurants in Menerbes which we enjoyed each night. The people who worked there were neighbors who would smile and wave during the day. We were invited to a neighborhood celebration of France’s victory in the World Cup championship. We loved the people! Menerbes was well located for daily forays into other hill cities in the area. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. Eva was readily available with assistance on how to use the various appliances, where to go, what to see and how to maximize our good experiences in this really fine home and village.

Fantastic rental in Menerbes

We loved our week at the town villa in Menerbes, it has got all one could wish to have to make your stay a great experience. A perfectly equipped kitchen, the lounge, the patio, the bedrooms and their ensuite bathrooms have all one needs and are beautifully decorated. We so enjoyed making barbecues and eating on the patio in the cooler evenings enjoying the great view, sipping a glass of Rose............. during our stay we ate at the pizzeria Chez Charles and the restaurant Gaboulet (each 20 metres away from the villa) both gave us great food and excellent service with a smile..... we did a lot of our groceries at the “épicerie “ next door to the villa, a good selection for the size of the shop and charming owners. Eva, thank you very much for all your efficient services, from the time I started the booking to our arrival at the villa with a bottle of rose, tapenade and crostini, it was a pleasure dealing with you. All the best, Sam and Marie-Jo

Provence Perfection!

Loved everything about this place! My best friend and I enjoyed a blissful week in Ménerbes largely thanks to this cozy, clean and comfortable cottage. The front door opens onto a great little street with nice restaurants, a little grocery store and a bakery - what more do you need!? We went to neighbouring towns some days and others we explored all the nooks and crannies of beautiful Ménerbes. The cottage has a bedroom and bath up and bed and bath down. The middle floor has the kitchen - so clean and well stocked - and a living room along with the pièce de résistence: the covered balcony! Thanks, Eva, for sharing your bit of paradise with us :) Can’t wait to visit again!
