The Location

The location is perfect for exploring the Luberon and Provence. It is 1km from the medieval hill-top village of Menerbes, with its cafe, restaurants, bakery, and grocery store. Menerbes rises up like a ship from the sea of vineyards that run along the Luberon valley and is officially one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'. The village of Menerbes has ancient buildings, towers and churches, with narrow streets that wind their way up to the square at the top of the village. From up here there are lovely views of the surrounding countryside, the Luberon mountain and Mont Ventoux. All the other picture-perfect 'perched' hill-top villages of the Luberon are within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede le vieux and Goult. Just beyond are the antiques capital of Isle sur la Sorgue and the very lovely Fontaine de Vaucluse. Within an hour are Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux de Provence, Orange, and the start of the Rhone wine trail. There is a market every day in one of the surrounding villages, and in Menerbes itself there is a market on Thursdays. You can make a comfortable day-trip of the Cote d'Azur from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, Marseille, the fishing village of Cassis and the calanques, Arles, Nimes, the Camargue, the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Rhone wine trail all the way to Lyon. |

Fabulous house
We have had three wonderful visits to this beautiful property and have already booked our fourth! It is a stunning home, beautifully decorated throughout with great attention to detail. The garden and pool are a real highlight and there are lots of different seating areas to hide away and relax in. The hosts are wonderfully kind - there was a lovely bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival and they are available if needed both before and during the stay. I can’t recommend highly enough!

Wonderful!
We spent two wonderful weeks at Les Cyprès, situated at walking distance from Ménerbes. A spacious, but cosy and quiet property, with a very large garden with a lovely and good-sized pool. When we arrived the house was ready for us, all clean and prepared. The house feels like a proper lived-in and characterful home. Contact with both the owner and caretaker was quick and easy. One morning we woke up because of a heavy thunderstorm, as a consequence of which we had no electricity. But within the hour the gardener was there to solve the problem, as well as bringing along a melon, which was a nice - and delicious - touch. We walked many times into lovely Ménerbes to have lunch and also rented electric bikes from Bonnieux, which were delivered at our holiday home, to further explore this beautiful region, which has so much to offer. In short, a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place to stay with our family!
We rented Les Cypres for our extended family of six, including two children ages 7 and 9. The owner was very easy to coordinate with and answered all of our questions promptly. Upon arrival in Provence, the local caretakers were helpful with directing us to a great, local grocery store to stock up on supplies, and then were waiting for us upon our arrival to help us get settled in. The house was beautiful and full of charm, and the grounds were lush and very private. The olive grove and vineyards right outside the door were beautiful and fun to explore. Our children especially loved the pool. Every day we went off on an adventure in the Luberon, visiting farmers markets and villages. Then we returned to Les Cypres to enjoy the pool and to cook all the amazing fresh food we had collected during our outings. Our favorite part was having coffee on the terrace in the mornings, while listening and watching bees and butterflies visit the scores of lavender bushes on the property. We hope to be back at Les Cypres soon! Thank you!
