The Location

There are many beautiful Provence villages close by, like Methamis and Venasque, as well as specialist producers of goat cheese, honey, truffles and wine. The major Provence town of Carpentras is 15 minutes away, and Avignon is 35 minutes away, both important cultural centres of the region.

The Luberon proper is 30 minutes to the south, with its famed perched villages like Bonnieux, Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, Goult and Lourmarin, as well as the antiques mecca of Isle sur la Sorgue.

Just on the doorstep is Ventoux country, a spectacular landscape for hiking, biking or driving from village to village.

Spacious, luminous, peaceful – a joyful Provençale retreat!

What a glorious week-long retreat we spent in Grangeneuve! Set in a huge, beautiful private property in the middle of the countryside away from the bustle of tourist routes, the house is spacious, bright, and artfully updated in excellent taste. I hosted a week-long retreat for 10 friends celebrating multiple wedding anniversaries. Our chef loved the well-equipped kitchen and served exquisite feasts daily, while guests enjoyed the beautiful bedrooms and well-appointed bathrooms. The house is well-maintained and was a joy to live in. The swimming pool is beautifully set on the edge of a woods, and offers a haven of peace for relaxing and enjoying the birdsong and wildflowers in springtime. The pool is unheated, so in spring only the hardy will jump in, but I found it refreshingly wonderful. We rented the in-house yoga studio as well, which must be the most beautiful, purpose-built and designed yoga space in France! At any rate, our group loved practicing in the spacious room bathed in natural light and overlooking the surrounding nature. We enjoyed breakfasts and aperitifs outdoors each morning and evening, as well as gathering in the comfortably furnished living room. One guest even played the grand piano. There are paths to walk or jog on the property, although we went cycling most days to the beautiful villages surrounding the area. The house is set a fair distance from towns of any size, so a car is necessary, but there are many nice places to go within a half-hour's drive. It's a wonderful property to experience the natural side of Provence in an unspoiled area, while lodging in style!

Angharad Wood

The house is beautifully situated, far from a main road and in the most beautiful valley. The owners do have a house further down the path and there is an abbey at the top of the lane so you don’t feel completely cut off, but you are able to enjoy the tranquility of not being able to hear or see another house! The rooms are beautifully decorated and there is a wonderful kitchen. We have been to the house three times, taking friends from all over the world and it is a really wonderful house!
