Domaine St Jacques - Living Room

Living Rooms

The main part of this house dates back to the 15th century, with the oldest parts going back to the 1100s. The house is full of historical charm and interest. The exposed beams and flagstone floors are original, from the 1400s.

Sofas face each other at one end of the entrance hall, by the staircase in the turret.

Downstairs there are several reception rooms, so large groups can spread out and find their own space, as well as the kitchen and dining room.

Entrance hall with baby grand piano, through to dining room.

In the entrance hall is a baby grand piano and sitting area, and at the back a magnificent round staircase fills one of the turrets. Off the entrance is the dining room to one side and to the other are various sitting rooms.

The new kitchen which opens out to the dining terrace by the pool.

The kitchen is newly fitted and is equipped with a 5-ring cooker, large oven, dishwasher, American fridge-freezer, and everything you might need to prepare a banquet. The laundry room is separate with washer and dryer.

Next to the kitchen is the dining room (below left), and the kitchen also opens out to the terrace with outdoor dining table by the pool.

Dining room and TV den.

The TV den (above right) has satellite channels including CNN, and there is WiFi internet.

Living room with fireplace and reading room.

There are two other living rooms (above) coming off the entrance hall, each with its own personality, one for cosy evenings round the fireplace, and the other a reading room.

The grand staircase in the turret and the writing table at the top of the staircase.

The house can be staffed according to your needs. A housekeeper can clean up after meals, for example, or she can cook and do housework every day. There is a caretaker who lives in a separate house on the property and can respond quickly to any problems.
