Contemporary villa with high Luberon views


A spacious contemporary villa for 12 high up on a wooded hill with great view to Gordes, in perfect calm, 1.5 miles from Roussillon. The house sleeps 12 in 7 bedrooms, most with a/c.

Living Rooms

The villa is split in two, either side of the pool and deck. In the main house are the living room and kitchen, and bedrooms upstairs for 4 people, and in the other part are 4 bedrooms for 8 people, each with bathroom, and a smaller living room.

The main living room is spacious and bright, with large sliding glass doors to the front terrace. There are sofas and dining table, as well as Bose Bluetooth speaker and HiFi. There is also WiFi throughout, but the house is free of TV.

The living room connects through to the kitchen which has an island unit in the middle and is equipped with 4-ring induction stove, oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and Nespresso machine. From the kitchen there is access out to the pool and outdoor dining and relaxation area.

In the adjoining house there is another living room, allowing different generations to find their own space.


The house sleeps 12, with 5 double bedrooms and two singles, and 6 bathrooms. Five bedrooms have air conditioning, and two bedrooms are on the garden level and are naturally cooler.

Upstairs in the main house the master bedroom (above) has the high Luberon view to Gordes from the bedroom, en suite bathroom and private balcony. The bed is 1.8m/6ft-wide. Opposite the bed is a full-width work desk with the view. The en suite bathroom has bath, walk-in shower, double basins and WC. This bedroom is air-conditioned

Also upstairs in the main house there are two single bedrooms with a/c. Bedroom 2 (below) with a 1.2m/4ft-wide bed and en suite bathroom with shower and basin. Bedroom 3 has a single bed. On the landing is a separate WC.

The 4 other bedrooms are in the adjoining house, each with en suite bathroom.

Bedroom 4 (above) is on the ground floor, with a/c, a 1.6m/5.25ft-wide bed and patio doors to a private balcony with view. The en suite bathroom has shower, basin and WC.

Bedroom 6 (below) is downstairs on the garden level and has either two single beds or a 1.8m/6ft-wide double. Sliding patio doors open out to the garden, and the en suite bathroom has bath, shower, double basins and WC.

Bedroom 7 (below), downstairs on the garden level, has a 1.6m/5.25ft-wide bed and french doors out to the garden. The en suite bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, double basins and WC.

The house is in a setting of great calm, high up on a private 27-hectare (66-acre) estate, with impressive view over the Provence countryside towards the village of Gordes and beyond.


Outdoor life is centred on the wooden deck terrace connecting the two parts of the house, facing the view and dropping down to the pool. Here there is a dining table and relaxation area, all under shade.

The big pool measures 11m x 7m (36ft x 23ft) and is fenced and gated.


Outside the living room, under the shade of a pergola, is an outdoor ping pong table.

There is plenty of parking at the back of the house, and access to the estate is gated and secure.

The Location

Roussillon has an extraordinary palette of colours, testament to its past as a major ochre producer.

The house is 1.5 miles from Roussillon, one of the most stunning villages in France. Roussillon is a medieval hill-top village, known and loved for its amazing palette of ochre colours. It has all the amenities you need: restaurants and cafes, grocery, bakery, butcher, doctor, pharmacy, small specialist stores, galleries and a weekly market.

Roussillon is one of the perched, hilltop villages that make the Luberon region of Provence such a fascinating place to visit. Other nearby hilltop villages include MenerbesGordesBonnieuxLacosteOppede-le-vieux, and Goult, all within 20 minutes.

There is a market in Roussillon on Thursday mornings, and a Luberon market in neighbouring villages every day of the week.

From this base you can explore the Luberon, its villages and markets, and close by you will find AvignonFontaine de VaucluseIsle sur la Sorgue, Les Baux de Provence, St Remy, Aix en Provence, Orange, Arles, Nimes, Marseille, the Camargue, Gorges du Verdon, to name just some of the great days out an easy drive away. The fishing village of Cassis on the Mediterranean is 90 minutes away, and the French Riviera 2-3 hours.

Included in the rental rates: bedlinen, towels, utilities, WiFi internet, and after-stay clean.

Rental periods run from Saturday 5pm to Saturday 10am.

To secure a booking you would send a 25% deposit, with the balance payable up to 8 weeks before your stay.
 There is a refundable security deposit of 800 euros against any breakages or damage.

Cancellation policy: if we can find another booking for your dates we will return any money sent (minus bank charges).

The house is for a maximum of 12 people. We regret that pets and smoking are not allowed in the property.
