Garden & Pool Fantastic view from the terrace of the medieval villages of Bonnieux (left) and Lacoste (right) facing each other as they have done for a thousand years.

The house is set in 1.25ha (3 acres) of grounds, on a pine-covered hill with exceptional 270° views from the terrace, pool and garden. The plants are typically Provence: aromatics, rows of lavender, varieties of roses, pines and oaks.

The pool is heated from April to October. It measures 10m x 4.2m (33ft x 14ft). It is secured with both a sliding rigid cover and pool alarm. The depth goes from 1m to 1.9m (3.25 - 6.25ft), there are Roman steps at one end and a security step all round the sides.

Pool with Roman steps and view. Seating area in the shade of the pines.

With such a splendid view you will enjoy the comfortable seating in the shade of the pines (above right) from which to enjoy it. There is even a boules court with the view.

Dining table and BBQ under the pergola.

You can eat your meals under the pergola in the garden (above), which is close to the kitchen and barbecue, or on the front terrace under the awning (below) which is also by the kitchen.

The front terrace facing south with shaded seating.

The gorgeous panorama includes the outstanding perched medieval villages of Lacoste (including the Marquis de Sade's castle), Bonnieux, Saignon and Caseneuve, as well as the Luberon mountain and Monts de Vaucluse.

Boules court. Pool lit up at night.

The sun shines from sunrise to sunset but there is always shade to be found - under the trees, the parasols by the pool, the awning of the terrace or the pergola. At twilight, straight ahead, the lights of Bonnieux and Lacoste twinkle against the mountain.

Autumn views from the house.

The view is beautiful all year, in the late season of October-November (above) no less than in spring and summer.

Left to right: the village of Bonnieux, the ochre cliffs of Roussillon, and the castle of the Marquis de Sade over Lacoste - all views from the garden.

There is plenty of secure parking to the back of the house and a gated entrance.

We have stayed in many places in France but the Luberon pulls us back everytime. This house and setting is the best we have found. I can say that in this book but would love to keep it a secret ! Being amongst the trees, the views and having so much sky has been truly wonderful. Johanne and her team have helped us at any moment with effective communication. We love this property and (many people say this) we do plan to return.

A place to love

This is a dream villa. We were eight but with so much space and beauty, we were in paradise! We will definitely come back and with great pleasure. We loved the decor! The landscape and especially the tranquility. Great holiday, thank you for everything!

Living the dream

A wonderful week spent in this magical place. A house decorated with taste and thought for relaxation, and for admiring the landscape. Terraces and rest areas to enjoy nature, find shade or sun, be together or separate. Evenings around the barbecue, grilling ribs of beef or lobster while watching Bonnieux and Lacoste light up at sunset, the last rays on Bonnieux, then the moon rising. The first cicadas in the morning in the delicious freshness that fades slowly. Admire the landscape in the large leather armchair in front of the bay window. The dream !
