Le Mas Tourteron

"Le Mas Tourteron has one of France's best woman chefs (some say the best) at the helm - Elisabeth Bourgeois. The quality of food here is high, and the indoor and outdoor settings are beautiful. Outside there is a walled garden with lovely trees bedecked with lanterns and hats. Inside the room is very welcoming, with ornaments and paintings on the walls, thick white table-cloths, napkin rings made of bread. Le Mas Tourteron is in an 18th century Provencal mas. Portions are on the small side but that is made up for by the tremendous dessert buffet, which you can re-visit until you are totally sated. Expect to be freed of at least 50-60 euros a head."

"Fantastic meal at Mas de Tourteron in Les Imberts - wonderful garden setting and an excellent way to spend Sunday afternoon. (One of the best meals we have enjoyed in France - especially the desserts)"

Pippa and Bob, 2004
"Nice garden, tasty 35 euro lunch menu."

Alice from Oslo, 2005
"Despite the lovely setting, we had an extremely disappointing meal at Le Mas Tourteron. Mediocre."

F.S., 2006
"Brilliant the first time we went there 2 years ago. Has been on the decline since. Get there early for a full range of puds as they tend to run out later on. The garden is very pretty in the summer."

Denise Kennedy, 2006
"Very pretty setting, however the food at Mas Tourteron is at best ordinary, and tremendously overpriced."

Tony and Jane, September 2006
"Lovely gardens but a disappointing meal. The desserts were delicious."

S.H. 2007
"We had dinner there in July 2007 and while it was the most expensive meal of our memorable holiday we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful setting and the wonderful food, especially the spectacular and varied desserts. We had no problems with the service and Madame The Chef graciously signed our menu - it was a great evening."

Sheryl Wright, 2007
"I regularly have dinner in le Mas Tourteron since 1988 (at least once a year since my parents used to live in Gordes). I went there last week (Sept. 6th, 2007) and it was as usual a moment of pure pleasure: delicious, charming, with that special atmosphere that you can't find anywhere else."

Anne Ray, Switzerland, 2010
"Great, beautiful, charming, expensive. Worth it? Yes. Service...a little lacking when the place gets crowded. What desserts."

Jacksmack, Kansas City, 2011
"Not only the best meal of our trip, you would be hard pressed to find a better setting. The gardens, the patio and the building are gorgeous. Service could not have been finer and the food tasted even better than the presentation. The dessert table will knock your socks off. Be sure to make a reservation or you'll miss out. Tip: Get the stuffed zucchini flowers if available."
