Rhone wine trail tours
There are some very good wines in the Luberon, but if you want great wines you need to head for Avignon and the Rhone wine trail. Start at Chateauneuf du Pape, where you do pay a premium for the name, and head up to Gigondas, Cairanne and Vacqueyras, then take the autoroute north to Valence, where the god of wine probably lives : Cornas, Crozes-Hermitage, St Joseph, Condrieu, and Cote Rôtie, one divine appellation after another.
