Gordes market takes place every Tuesday morning. With stalls set around the foot of the castle at the centre of the village, this is a colourful and very photogenic market. The emphasis is on fabrics, linens, soaps, lavender, clothing, but you can also pick up lunch: bread, olive oil, honey, saucisson, cheese, wine and so on. If you want a post-market picnic, take the road to Murs from the castle, and the views will find you. Alternatively, Gordes is very well served with restaurants.
Parking is best in the lot just before you get to the centre of Gordes, it is a short walk up to the market and downhill when you leave.
