What a great holiday!
Camille’s house is wonderfully located, in the heart of nature, high up, isolated from neighbors and with a beautiful view of Gordes and the Luberon. It is very well equipped and has very comfortable bedding. Each bedroom has its en-suite bathroom / shower. The swimming pool is very large which we appreciated as there were 12 of us, adults and children.
Roussillon is one of the most stunning villages in France, a hill-top village known and loved for its amazing palette of ochre colours. Roussillon is also well served with amenities - restaurants and cafes, grocery, bakery, butcher, pharmacy, small specialist stores, galleries and a weekly market on Thursday mornings.
Other nearby hilltop villages include Menerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Oppede-le-vieux, and Goult, all within 20 minutes' drive. From this base you can explore the Luberon, its villages and markets, and close by you will find Avignon, l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Les Baux-de-Provence, St Remy, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Nimes, Marseille, none more than 80 minutes away.

An absolutely perfect stay!
The house is welcoming, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. We felt at home from the very first day. This is the ideal house for vacations with family and friends: spacious, functional, and perfectly equipped. The children loved the pool, and we loved the peace and quiet and the comfort.
We will cherish this stay with fond memories! We highly recommend it!
Beyond Expectations
My friends and I spent 2 glorious weeks revelling in the beauty of Bella Vista. From the hot air balloon rising over the valley of vineyards in the morning to the spectacular evening sunsets across from the pool each night, we could not have found a better setting. The house(s) are amazingly comfortable, well appointed, with everything you could possible want. Clean, bright, luxurious and totally accommodating. It was hard to tear ourselves away.
Wonderful family holiday at Bella Vista
Three generations of our family, ranging in age from 81 years to 7 months, spent a tranquil fortnight in this comfortable modern villa on a hillside outside Roussillion, and it suited us down to the ground. The house is located within a wooded area at the end of a long track in the forest, so is quiet and secluded without being insanely far from anywhere. Having said that, you really do need a car to get around- as is generally the case in the Luberon. There are myriad things to do, all within an hour or less of the house, and it was great to come back after a long day kayaking, winetasting, sightseeing, waterparking, hiking, eating exceptional pistachio ice-cream at Frego in l’Isle sur La Sorgue etc. (a genuine contender for best in class) and dive straight into the pool.
We really enjoyed the covered outdoor seating area between the two houses, which was great for meal times and allowed you to supervise the children in the pool (i.e. read a book/snooze) without having to trek off to another part of the property to keep an eye on them. Some members of the older generation (ahem) found getting out of the pool a little challenging, as there are no handrails for getting in or out, but that is a relatively minor quibble. The view from the far end of the pool is beautiful, particularly at sunset, and the stars at night are unbelievable if you’re used to the light pollution of large cities.
The kitchen is well equipped, with good quality knives and chopping boards, and more than sufficient pots and pans. The bedrooms are comfortable, and airconditioned save for the two downstairs rooms in the second house, and there was always plenty of hot water for showers etc- to the extent that hot water is required in Provence in August! I would certainly recommend this house for a large family group, as we had a lovely time at Bella Vista. A big thanks to Camille for being so accommodating of our particular requests, and also to Isobel for being both easy going and extremely helpful in equal measure.
Highly recommended summer rental
Our extended family (9 adults and 4 children) stayed in Bella Vista in August. We felt very comfortable and at ease due to the size of the house(s), the air conditioning, and the terrace with its outdoor seating and dining area. The views are amazing. The pool area is completely secure. The house is fully equipped for large groups. The set up enabled the adults to keep an eye on the children. It also enabled those who wished to do so to profit from some peace.
The location of the house facilitates visiting the surrounding area and there is a good choice of shops at about a 20 minute drive away. We greatly appreciated our contact with Isobel who looks after the property and took great care of us during our stay. We would definitely consider returning.
