The pictures tell the story

The pictures and details tell you everything you need to know about this wonderful property (although by the end of August to be expected not all the colours of the flowers in the garden and surrounding lavender fields). We were welcomed with food and flowers, well looked after by Christian and had a wonderful time exploring the area. We had fun evenings eating outside and in the sheltered courtyard. We are a group of 3 couples who enjoyed our stay in all its aspects. Only thing to check is the sleeping arrangements; if you are a similar group, one couple doesn’t quiet get the same benefits as the other two rooms. Highly recommend; we had a super time staying there.

PAOLO'S VIEW: “Far from the madding crowd, a fantastic setting on the rim of a mountain with endless views, lavender fields, and 18 acres”

The Location
The house is 2 miles from the village of Viens with its small food store, bar/restaurant and specialist honey shop.

The nearest town is Apt, 15 minutes away, where you will find supermarket, cinema, restaurants and the biggest market in the Luberon, on Saturday morning all year round.

Some call this area the 'real' Provence because this part of the Luberon is more dramatic and less visited than the area to the west with the popular villages like Gordes, Bonnieux, Menerbes and Roussillon, which are half an hour away. Here the hill-top villages like Viens, Caseneuve and Saignon are on the road less travelled, but worth discovering. Also close by are the stunning Oppedette gorge and ocre-coloured Colorado provencal at Rustrel. The eastern part of the Luberon is noted for its wild, natural beauty. This is a land of gentle rolling hills, garrigue and lavender, where memorable hikes and bike rides start right from your doorstep. There is very little traffic here and this is a terrific location for bike rides, on- and off-road.

All that I imagined and more!

Rated 5 out of 5
14th August 2025

La Jauberte was the perfect place for peace and relaxation. The landscaping and gardens were beautiful. I was a single female traveler in need of a recharge in a safe, inviting and comfortable environment. La Jauberte provided everything I had imaged and hoped for. I visited several of the small villages and towns, including the town of Apt Saturday morning market, and the historic town of Gordes, as well as the close by village of Viens. The caretakers were kind and available. Although I did not use the pool, it provided another lovely sitting area and beautiful view. The home (including beds and linens) was comfortable, clean and stocked with all necessities. I left refreshed and definitely plan to return to these beautiful grounds and villa again.

This was our second visit to La Jauberte. We love the seclusion, the view, the house and the location.

We will be back again.

We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful property. It had everything we needed – a gorgeous pool and a balcony overlooking the valley where we could watch the sun go down. The surrounding countryside and Viens were stunning. We loved eating out in Viens and the market in Banon and felt thoroughly relaxed by the time we left. Thank you

Wonderful holiday

We spent a week at La Jauberte in September 2023. The weather was perfect and we loved the garden, pool and house. The view from the terrace is beautiful and it is a very peaceful and restorative place. Viens is a great little village with a very good boulangerie. We also loved visiting the markets at Apt and Bonnieux. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful house.
