A paradise within reach

The apartment is superbe and even better looking than the photos, but the yard, the quiet, the sound of the Mistral…is paradise.

We were all alone in this heavenly retreat and I can tell you there’s nothing better than Provence.

Menerbes is a very good choice for a stay in Provence, because it is a beautiful small village very close to all the others that worth seeing (and there’s a lot of them!!!).

But going back to this house and Dominique, the host – it was perfect and we are already thinking of coming back real soon. Perfect – perfect – perfect! What a beautiful place to get lost in!

PAOLO'S VIEW: “Designed for rentals, with a lovely country setting, Luberon view, and 5-minute walk down to the village restaurants, café and bakery”

The Location
The apartment is in a country setting but just a 3-minute stroll down the hill to the village of Menerbes.

Menerbes rises up like a ship from the sea of vineyards that run along the Luberon valley and is officially one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'. Menerbes has two levels. On the mid-level are restaurants, cafe, bakery and grocery store. And on the top level you can stroll past grand houses with magnificent views to north and south, as well as the Maison de la Truffe et du Vin (House of Wine and Truffles), where you can buy produce and also have lunch in the beautiful garden. Market day in Menerbes is Thursday mornings from April to October.

From Menerbes you can get to the other picture-perfect hill-top villages of the north Luberon within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede-le-vieux and Goult. Within an hour are the must-sees of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St-Remy, Les Baux-de-Provence and Arles.

A wonderful 3-weeks stay in April

Rated 5 out of 5
29th March 2026

We spent 3 wonderful weeks in Garrigue 1. The apartment is superbly equipped, the location is perfect: above Ménerbes, a short distance away which can be covered by foot in a few minutes, with a great view of the Petit Luberon, and totally quiet. Dominique is a wonderful host. And we found Ménerbes to be very well located for excursions to cities like Avignon or Aix-en-Provence, the many villages and towns between St. Remy and Apt, as well as great hikes. Highly recommendable!

Beautiful and peaceful home right outside of Menerbes

We stayed in Garrigue 1 for 9 nights in early September and it was perfect! The view was spectacular, the kitchen had everything you could need and the rooms were functional and clean. The pool had a stunning view over the mountains and was a lovely spot to spend an afternoon. The walk to town was easy – we couldn’t believe how close we were to town yet felt totally tucked away in nature. Highly recommend.

Tranquil and secluded

After a week in Goult where it was a little busier, La Garrigue was the perfect spot to enjoy a more tranquil, laid back week enjoying the beautiful views that being higher up allowed. The property had everything we needed and the aircon worked well to cool down the room that doesn’t have its own unit. Dominique was extremely welcoming and always on hand if we needed any assistance. It was such a lovely week and the location was perfect being just a short walk to Menerbes but secluded enough to feel like we were the only ones in the middle of a cedar forest with amazing sunsets from the pool and a cool breeze on those hot days. Just what we needed!

A little slice of heaven

We had a wonderful week in Ménerbes, staying in Garrigue 1 with our 8 year old boy. The apartment is beautifully decorated and well equipped. The aircon in the living space and main bedroom were excellent, and the fan in the second bedroom worked effectively for our child. The bed in the main room was very comfortable – a few more pillows might have been nice.

The pool is gorgeous – however it could have maybe benefitted from a bit of a clean during our stay as the water got a little murky.

The outlook from the terrace is just exquisite. An outdoor sofa with cushions would have been nice but the lounging chairs were fine and it was great that there was a table and dining chairs, too.

The village itself is so easy to get to and is perfect – ice cream, bakery, deli, restaurants, cafes, shops. It was even better than we imagined.

Thank you Dominique – we loved our stay.
