Absolutely magical!
Our time at Lourmarin Vista was nothing less than magical. Everything was beyond our expectations. The house was roomy, welcoming, and had all the French charm we wanted. The kitchen was modern and well stocked with all the necessities. Everything is completely updated and top quality. We spent most of our time out drinking wine or eating on the patios… there are many, and the next is even more stunning than the last.
And the Gardens… we all felt like we were in our own private secret garden. Annick has outdone herself with the gardens, and Hratch’s olive groves are just as amazing! I am talking coffee book quality here. Absolutely stunning. And the view… the view over the valley took our breath away. Even this last week, months after our stay, my husband asked me, “Do you think Hrach and Annick ever get tired of that view?”
And speaking of Hratch and Annick, the hosts. They are friendly, generous, absolutely lovely people. Plus their property management team was always available and knowledgeable.
Lourmarin, the town closest to the house, is charming. So many shops and restaurants here (many Michelin star) and close by. Wineries. Farmer’s markets. Bakeries. Cheese stores. Butchers. You get the idea! Our favorite thing to do was wander, find some produce, cheese, wine… and bring it back and cook while the kids swam in the resort-style pool.
If this sounds good to you (and why wouldn’t it?), don’t hesitate to book. You will not be sorry. This house, Lourmarin, the Luberon Valley… our 7-year-old daughter referred to it as “the countryside from Beauty and the Beast came alive”, and she isn’t wrong!
The only thing lacking in our stay was time… and that is why we will be back again (for longer!) this coming year!
Lourmarin is one of the star villages of the Luberon, characterised by the lively restaurants and cafes spilling onto the street in the centre, with boutiques and food stores in medieval winding streets. It has a beautifully preserved castle to visit, which hosts various events through the year. And under the castle is a great wine cellar for tasting and buying local wines. On Friday mornings, Lourmarin hosts a great weekly market.
Lourmarin is a wonderful base, and from there you are close to other south Luberon villages like Cucuron and Ansouis, and 20-30 minutes from the beautiful hill-top villages of the north Luberon like Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, Goult, Oppede-le-vieux, etc. Within 45-90 minutes are the splendid Provence cities of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Arles, St-Remy, as well as swimming beaches, the Camargue, Marseille, and the Rhone wine trail.
Included in the rates: utilities, bedlinen, towels, WiFi internet, after-stay clean. Pool heating is available at 250 euros/week outside of June-September when it is included. Absolute bliss!
Our second visit and every bit as wonderful as the first. Two weeks of complete bliss in this beautiful house enjoying the comfort of the rooms and the fablous views from dawn to dusk. We hope very much to return!
Could not have been happier!
How lucky we feel that we found and were able to stay in this beautiful villa. We loved sitting on the patio watching the sun rise and set. The gardens are gorgeous and the home had everything we could possible need.
Hratch and Teny were so helpful before and during our stay with making our plans. The kids loved the pool! We explored the village and castle, played tennis at the club, went to La Coste, Gordes, Roussillon, Pont du Gard, Cassis – did so many things and then enjoyed the relaxation of the villa every afternoon. Thank you so much!
Fabulous
Wow – the villa and grounds are beautiful, without doubt the best villa we have ever stayed in. The gardens are fabulous and the interior is so very tastefully decorated and furnished. Our contact with Hratch was always a delight – what a lovely man – and Teny was so very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Fabulous!!!
Heaven in Provence
No words can describe how peaceful and beautiful we found this special place to be. We were blessed to share it with dear friends but also to have some quiet time for just the two of us. We had everything we could ever need and enjoyed being close to many wonderful villages. The owner Hratch was so available and kind in preparing for our visit. Teny the house manager was extremely helpful and responsive throughout our stay. We hope to return.
