A Little Jewel
After the 4th time in a row at Maison des Amis I still have the same complaint as every year: why do I have to leave???
This little jewel hidden in one of the most charming villages of the Luberon is perfect in many ways – as it is so quiet, it is
the ideal place to unwind & relax with beautiful in- and outdoor space, the walking vicinity to the grocery, butcher, bakery
& café makes you feel part of the village life & the daily swimming in the perfectly sized pool is an additional plus for those
who like some activity. The house is well equipped with all one needs & at the same time shows the owner’s love for art
& beautiful things. Maybe one year I won’t have any complaints anymore – but that only if I don’t have to leave.
Goult is a little-known gem of a village, with a lovely atmosphere, a good cafe/restaurant on the main square, and several other good restaurants, as well as a beautifully preserved old neighbourhood with bakery, butcher, grocery store, leading up past the chateau to the windmill looking out to the Luberon. It is an ideal base, with everything you need, and not too busy. Goult has a seasonal market on Thursday mornings. The village also has public tennis courts.
The other perched, hill-top villages of the Luberon, like Menerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, and Oppede-le-vieux are all 10-15 minutes away. The impressive Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and the antiques capital of l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue are 20 minutes away, the medieval city of Avignon is 40 minutes, and within an hour or so are Aix-en-Provence, St-Remy-de-Provence, Arles, Mont Ventoux, Les Baux-de-Provence, and the Rhone wine trail.
Included in the rates: utilities, bedlinen, towels, WiFi internet, visitor tax, after-stay clean. For stays of 2 weeks or more there is a weekly clean with change of bedding and towels.
To book: 25% booking deposit, with the balance payment due 2 months before arrival.
Rental periods: 1-week minimum, rental periods run from Saturday 5pm to Saturday 10am.
Refundable damage deposit: 400 euros.
Cancellation: if you have to cancel, we will try to re-book your dates, and refund the amount recovered (minus bank charges).
Maximum occupancy: 4. Minimum age is 14.
Dogs are not accepted in this property.
All properties are non-smoking.
Idyllic little oasis
Absolutely perfection of a holiday here. I went as a solo female craving time away, and this was perfect. I had already stayed last summer in Goult which is my favorite village, and knew I wanted to stay here again. Maison Des Amis was the perfect getaway for me. It was the perfect size for myself. I so enjoyed the refreshing pool, my trips to the markets for fresh produce, and drives around the countryside. It was healing and transformative to say the least. Merci Martin! He was great to work with and very on it. 100% trustworthy 🙂 (and I say this with absolute certainty!)
Perfect
Wow. We have just come back from spending a week in Maison des Amis and wanted to say what a magical time we had there. The house is very lovely – comfortable and beautifully laid out and decorated. We pretty much lived in the beautiful green pool as it was so hot when we were there and the loungers and umbrellas allowed us to just snooze and read in the shade. Goult is film-set beautiful and having the village so close is perfect. You can just nip in for coffee, provisions at the wonderful Epicerie, or for dinner at one of the fabulous restaurants. There were also several events on in the village while we were there with a great communal feel. The market on Thursday was a delight. Martin was easy to communicate with sent us loads of useful info about the house and surroundings and Cate who met us was so friendly and helpful. We would like to have stayed several months, but will definitely be back as soon as we can. Thank you for such a wonderful week in your house and village.

We had the most amazing time. We loved Maison des Amis. It was perfect and in particular the green tiled pool was very welcome given the heatwave we had during our stay. Sylvia was great, very helpful. We can’t wait to return.
A very special rental!
This is a very special rental: a hidden gem in the heart of the village.
We were mesmerised by the green tiled pool from the moment we climbed through the entrance gate. We spent most of our fortnight relaxing on the terrace with its ample seating choices either in full sun or dappled shade. Each morning we would pop to the village for the obligatory viennoiserie before returning to the tranquil lower terrace and its generous fig tree, coffee in hand to mull over plans for the day – pool, book, nap?
The house itself is compact and comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked and perfect for assembling light meals. We found the fridge a little small but adapted by being organised and shopped local regularly. The dining area and lounge are comfortable though we spent little time indoors. We were grateful for the fans in the well appointed bedrooms; the temperature was in the high 30s throughout our stay. Sylvia, the housekeeper, was welcoming, clear in her communication and on hand to resolve a minor issue we encountered.
Goult is a lovely village with a butcher, cheesemonger, boulangerie and well-stocked epicerie within a 5 minute walk. It also has some great restaurants; La Bartavelle and La Terrasse were our favourites but make sure to book many weeks in advance during high season.
We had a marvellous time and are already planning our return trip! For us, Maison des Amis is as near perfect as we could hope to find. There are only a couple of small things which would make it even better: a fridge in the atelier for a cool drink by the pool and air conditioning in the bedrooms.
