PAOLO'S VIEW: “The historic beauty of the 18th century renewed with the comforts of the modern, like a/c in bedrooms and plunge pool, in an ideal, quiet village location, a 3-minute stroll to the centre”

The Location
The house is in a quiet road in the upper part of Menerbes, 2 minutes walk down to all the village amenities.

Menerbes rises up like a ship from the sea of vineyards that run along the Luberon valley and is officially one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'. Menerbes has two levels. On the mid-level are restaurants, cafe, bakery and grocery store. And on the top level you can stroll past grand houses with magnificent views to north and south, as well as the Maison de la Truffe et du Vin (House of Wine and Truffles), where you can buy produce and also have lunch in the beautiful garden. Market day in Menerbes is Thursday mornings from April to October.

From Menerbes you can get to the other picture-perfect hill-top villages of the north Luberon within 15 minutes by car: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede-le-vieux and Goult. Within an hour are the must-sees of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St-Remy, Les Baux-de-Provence and Arles.

The most unique place we have known

Rated 5 out of 5
28th October 2025

This is one of the most unique places we’ve stayed, and we’ve stayed all over the world. The bedding, the furniture, the exposed stone, all contributed to a cozy and comfortable vibe/stay.

As others have noted, one of the bedrooms is separate from the rest of the house. This room is extremely large and beautiful, with beautiful views. Just worth being aware of if traveling with children.

Would highly recommend this place if you want a quiet and peaceful stay in a lovely town that is small but close to all the Luberon villages for day trips.

A beautiful period house in a wonderful historic village, a great base from which to explore the area but equally well situated and equipped for a village based break. The house is beautifully decorated and a pleasure to stay in.

Every detail in this house make the guests feel special. Attention has been paid to every detail and the furniture is absolutely outstanding. The kitchen is convenient and the tv room a wonderful addition for movie night.

The pool is small but our girls spent hours there having fun. Be aware that the master doesn’t communicate with rest of the house – not ideal with young kids. The village is an absolute gem.
